For the last 7 years of my marriage, I have stood beside, advocated for, and fought with my Husband to pull his son from a previous relationship out of a long-standing dangerous situation. We have paid for attorneys in three states, some states paying multiple attorneys, to track down and secure safety and accountability for my step-son. The pain associated with a child who is weaponized against one parent’s side of the family is devastating, and it wreaked havoc not only on us as parents but on our children and extended family members as well.
