We charge a consultation fee.<br> We are a multi-attorney litigation firm. Our lawyers don’t sit around waiting for walk-ins or “quick questions.” Every consult is a scheduled, private meeting with an experienced attorney who reviews your situation, explains your options, and gives actual legal guidance. That is what the $300 covers (you got a discount). It is not just to “chat,” it is to get real legal advice from a real lawyer.<br><br>2. We do not quote “just file a motion.”<br> When we quote a motion, we are quoting the work needed to do it correctly and ethically. That includes: reviewing the full file, researching the law, drafting the motion and certification, preparing the proposed order, exhibits, filing it properly, and, if the court schedules argument, appearing and arguing it. Courts do not accept “one-page motions for cheap,” no matter what the internet says.<br><br>In landlord/tenant matters and civil matters, even something that sounds “simple” can carry serious consequences — eviction, money judgments, credit damage, or contempt findings. When our name goes on a pleading, our attorneys are responsible for the accuracy of the facts and the law. We are not going to rush something out just to be the cheapest quote in town.<br><br>You were quoted a little over $3,000 because that is the realistic amount of attorney time it takes to draft, file, and stand behind a motion the court will actually take seriously. That is normal for a staffed law firm with multiple licensed litigators, not a document-typing service.<br><br>We understand not everyone can or wants to hire a firm like ours, and that’s okay. Some people choose to self-file or use lower-cost options.
