I was involved in an accident on the freeway when a car was sideswiped by a semi truck and spun out in front of my motorcycle. I sustained serious injuries, some permanent, and others that have taken years to heal. While riding my bike around Palos Verdes in November 2016, I was hit from behind in the bike lane by a 21-year-old distracted driver. I was lifted into the air and my head and body literally destroyed his roof and windshield. I was in a coma for three days, having broken many ribs, neck, back, and leg bones which required a month in the hospital’s Intensive Care and Rehabilitation units. My three traumatic brain injuries caused double vision that could only be corrected by very complicated eye surgery.
