If you’re looking for an attorney you can truly trust with your safety and your future, Alen is that person! He helped me through one of the most difficult and overwhelming times of my life involving domestic abuse. He made me feel safe, supported, and completely at ease. I never felt stressed or worried because I knew he had everything under control. During trial, Alen was calm, confident, sharp, and incredibly prepared. It was amazing to watch him work. His advocacy made all the difference in helping me with a successful outcome. When another legal matter arose later on with the same individual, Alen stepped in again and handled everything with the same level of professionalism. He didn’t just defend me, he was able to clearly show the true nature of the situation. Having an attorney who understands not only the law, but also the realities of abuse dynamics, is priceless. This world is filled with so much anger and violence, but having the right attorney can change everything. If you need help with a domestic abuse case or any other criminal matter, Alen is the best attorney you can ask for! Professional, compassionate, fearless, and exceptionally skilled. Choosing Alen as my attorney was the best decision I could have made! I am endlessly grateful. Mahalo nui loa.

I want to warn all women, especially victims of violence, about my experience with this lawyer. Hiring him was the worst mistake of my life and a total disaster. From my experience, he does not understand abuse against women, and his professional ethics are seriously questionable. Here’s why I strongly advise against trusting him: Negligence and lack of respect: While my life was on the line in court, he was busy texting about the colors of the furniture in his home. He didn’t prepare my defense, did no investigation because he thought it was “too much work,” and didn’t even know the basic details of my case. Unethical financial conduct: He took money from me that was not justified and was completely unethical. He demanded payment upfront and later tried to charge extra fees for the length of the trial, as if the delays were my fault. From my experience, his focus was on getting paid, not actually working on the case. Severe professional incompetence: He became overwhelmed when he received detailed information and clearly wasn’t capable of handling the case. Instead of defending me, he stayed silent in front of the judge, apparently afraid of saying the wrong thing or looking bad. His priority seemed to be protecting his own image in court, not defending me. Lack of humanity and moral responsibility: He ignored calls and didn’t support me when I needed him most. His public profile glorifies cases involving violent people he has defended, which to me shows a complete lack of moral responsibility. His words felt empty and fake, disguised as professionalism just to get his check. Because of his absent and inadequate defense, my abuser — a man who physically assaulted me, threatened my life, and made me fear for my safety — is still free. Based on my experience, this lawyer is far from someone a victim should trust. Don’t waste your money or put your life in his hands. Let me tell you that it would be a pleasure to provide the details of your lazy work, but I will leave it here so people can see the ferocity of your response without you even knowing which of your clients you are referring to. What can be expected from a so-called lawyer with no real training, extremely green and inexperienced, lacking ethics, a liar, and who has just made it clear to everyone that—according to you—you know who I am and that I tried to harm an abuser? You see, Alan, where are your principles as a lawyer you claim to be, if you admit that an alleged victim would want to harm an abuser? Nice try. Pathetic.

Response from owner

This is not a review from an actual client. It is likely from an opposing individual who lost their case to my client. The last paragraph of the review says that "a man who physically assaulted me, threatened my life, and made me fear for my safety - is still free."

The reviewer goes on to write, "[b]ased on my experience, this lawyer is far from someone a victim should trust."

These comments makes it clear that I represented the man who "is still free," not the woman who left the review. I am a defense attorney. I do not represent "victims." Victims are witnesses for the prosecution, not for defendants or defense attorneys.

I suspect I know who left this review. However, for privacy considerations I will not mention the reviewer's name. If my suspicions are correct, the judge found the reviewer to not be credible. She lied under oath and was evasive about answering straightforward questions. She lied about being abused for ulterior motives.

None of the other allegations make sense.

First, texting is not permitted in trial and the "color of furniture" does not interest me in the slightest.

Second, every client signs a written retainer agreement per the Hawaii Rules of Professional Conduct. "Extra fees" outside of the retainer agreement are not permitted.

Third, I do not ignore calls.

Lastly, I keep detailed records of all my clients, their cases, and the outcomes of their cases. This reviewer does not fit into any client profile that I have represented in at least the past 15 years (or more).

If this reviewer truly believes their allegations are accurate, I strongly encourage them to file a formal complaint, so I can refute each and every allegation instead of leaving anonymous reviews with no basis in fact.

Thank you.

Alen as well as Cameron and Chris are the best legal team I have worked with. Shay also does a great job at keeping your information up to date and tidy. They are the best at what they do and bring all cards to the table. Very happy and content to have worked with all of them.

I cannot recommend this firm enough. When I reached out they explained the whole process in detail and set up an affordable payment plan. My case from start to finish lasted over a year and a half. During the entire process they went above and beyond and made me feel confident of having a true rockstar of a legal team in my corner. Incredibly happy with the results and I have my life back thanks to them.

I retained Alen after I was falsely arrested by the Honolulu Police Department for Reckless Driving, Racing, and Exhibition of Speed. If it wasn't for having a dash cam and Alen's experience and knowledge, I am sure that the case would have gone differently. The case was dismissed with prejudice and I have Alen to thank for that. Well done Alen and I definitely recommend his services!
