This was the worst experience I have had with attorneys yet. Jasmine was extremely disrespectful and lied about our conversations. Not once did this “attorneys office” if that what you want to call this place send me and email or get in touch with me about terminating my garnishments. I paid my bill in full to this office and they still had my employer garnishing my wages making me pay double. Be aware of these scam artists. They took two weeks to leave me a voicemail lying about them trying to get in contact. This place is a disgrace!
Joke of a place. Have been paying my debt directly to the State, but because it is not through them, they hit my bank account (costing me $150) and are now trying to garnish my wages for over double what is owed!!!!
Andy Bowers is a fantastic professional. Highly recommend.
I am paying my spouses debt , I made 800 but only get 500 for 2 weeks of work. Have 1900.00 rent plus bills and two kids to feed. Andrew hope you sleep well at night. I have lost so much weight because I can't afford food. And don't qualify for food stamps.
I don't understand how the workers and contacts for this service is so rude. After listening to recorded operators i talked to Jasmine K and how rude she talked to me like I was beneath her I even questioned why was her tone was so rude I opened a portal which the last lady told me to do to start a payment plan and I thought that would stop the garnishment my employer got another letter so I called Ms Jasmine to see if I done something wrong she was so rude talked to me in the nastiest way call was around 12:50 tues I'm sure it's recorded just because you have jobs in high places doesn't mean you have to be a complete jerk it's already frustrating when your trying to clear matters up and you have to listen to recording after recording then when someone gets a live person they talk to you like your less than smh
Ugh, I got myself into trouble with the IRS and Ohio with taxes and an old car accident where I damaged state property. Andy’s staff worked with me to get into a payment plan for the taxes (which I’ve now paid off!!!) and worked with my car insurance company to pay off the $2k+ I owed from the car accident. Honestly, the situation sucked, but they were respectful and gave me the opportunity to make a payment plan instead of having an embarrassing garnishment with my employer. Thankful that this is now behind me!!!
I was in a car accident a couple years ago that caused damage to a traffic barrier. Ben Miller and Dan Deluna were both major help to my case. They took care of most of the work and walked me through each step of the process in great detail. They understood my financial situation and worked with me to create a payment plan for the damages. Even after we had came to a conclusion on the payment plan, they continued to work with my insurance to get the damages covered. I am very pleased with their work on my case, and would recommend reaching out to them for legal assistance.
As a business owner, I had to deal with OAG collections from time to time over the lifetime of my business. I am no stranger to their collection process. But after closing my business, I was surprised to receive a collections notice five years after the fact, including an erroneous assessment for a period after my tax account was closed. Suffice it to say, Mr. Bowers and team had to deal with a real mess. The first thing Jasmine did was go through all the assessments and pared down my bill to what I actually owed, which was substantially less than the original bill. Once we took care of that, she then went the extra mile and ensured the OAG sent in a null and void order for the lien based on the erroneous assessment. None of us like dealing with DOT and OAG -- they tend to make mistakes and then get aggressive. Jasmine made my life much easier and did a fantastic job of stepping in and running interference to make sure I was treated fairly.
Wow, lots of negative reviews. I supposed understandable to some degree given the nature of the business. THIS WAS NOT WHAT I EXPERIENCED TODAY. I had some old OH tax issues that I did not have in my field of vision overall. I did have a letter from them about the taxes, which I had sitting [for too long] in the "follow-ups to-do" mail pile. I end up with liens against my property. Some involving the property surfaced the existence of the liens. Left Andy Bowers Special Council a message yesterday and today it was returned. Person was very civil to me. We talked through what was up and got it settled. I commented to him that in my similar dealings with firms like this that are extensions of the state (of Ohio), they have always been very positive. I have never been talked down to, etc. I work hard, am not perfect, and always try to fix my mistakes. I am glad that I have been treated with due respect by the OH agencies, including Andy Bowers. (Note that I am not using my public Google account due to the embarrassing nature of why the firm had to engage with me.) JWM
SCAM FIRM! I have never lived in ohio nor done any business in ohio but yet was sent a threatening letter stating that they were going to garnish 400+ out of my wages due to an unpaid school tax for columbus ohio in 2012.... funny thing is, ive lived in Fl for the last 11 years and mutiple states since then but NEVER ohio. Lol. Jasmine entertained my emails for a while but once i asked for PROOF of this unpaid tax she dissappesred for a month. I then contacted the ohio department of taxation and was informed neither myself or my ex husband (who jasmine said i filed jointly with) did not owe any taxes and if we did, the state or ORS would have contacted us directly and to not pay them ANYTHING and stop all contact. SCUM is what yall are. Im sure you hate your jobs but it must pay well to blatantly lie and then try to collect like you all do.
Collection agency for Ohio taxes
Trying to collect a false debt in the amount of 140000+ dollars regarding Ohio dept of taxation. I've recorded my calls and send certified letters to this company letting them know I do not owe this debt and to leave me alone or take me to court. Instead they send information regarding ownership to a business. I will be filing a complaint with the State of Ohio regarding their attempts to collect this false debt. Maybe they'll take me seriously when I have my own attorney contact them! Do not pay them, if you owe a debt or not. If you do pay your original debtee so you are aware of the actual balance and payments are made to the debt. I do not believe they are a legitimate collection agency.
Scammers!! Beware!! Before you pay them do your research! You probably don’t owe!
Too expensive
Absolute ambulance chasers. Incredibly unprofessional, rude, and the worst sort of attorneys.
Absolute a-holes. Trying to strong arm me, scare tactics into paying more than I can afford. After reading other people's reviews I called the attorney generals office and found out my total payment is $200 less then what he was telling me I owe. How do people like this stay in business. Do some research before giving these people any credit card info! Save yourself some money! I also talked to the high and mighty Scott
I owed back taxes (my fault). I received numerous threatening letters from Andy Bowers & Associates (I get it, you're just trying to do your job and collect the states money). They finally get threatening enough for me to call, so I do so. I get on the phone with a gentleman named Scott (an assistant of Andy's I believe). He is immediately rude and unbecoming of a "professional", basically telling me I'm not responsible and, "...it's not my problem you fell behind on your taxes..." Scott continues to push saying I am now on the IRS Offset list, which means all or a portion of my federal returns would be applied to the Ohio Attorney General first, then I'd get whatever (if any) was left over. I reluctantly enter a payment arrangement with this firm. I asked for but did NOT receive any documentation in the mail pertaining to this agreement. I monitored my bank account very closely to ensure they were doing the right thing by obtaining only the money that was agreed to came out and that that money was in fact being applied to my back taxes. Upon the completion of my payment arrangement, I called Andy Bowers & Associates in order to cancel the arrangement because I paid off the taxes earlier than what the payment arrangement was slotted for. Again, I get Scott. I tell Scott I want to cancel the payment arrangement because all my taxes under the Ohio Attorney General's Office was now paid off. He then informed me that I still have a couple hundred dollars left (which have NOT been sent to collections yet). I said, "Scott. I have satisfied my end of the payment arrangement with your office. While there may be a few hundred dollars left on my back taxes, this no longer has anything to do with your office. I will take care of those taxes on my own accord." He replies, "Are you sure? You didn't pay your taxes on your own accord last time and that's why we are talking on the phone right now." Fuming at this point, I said, "That's none of your d*** business, Scott. You are by far one of the most unprofessional public servants I have ever spoken to. Cancel my payment arrangement right now and send me documentation stating you have done so." He says, "I'm canceling the payment arrangement and automatic withdraw now but we do not provide notification that we did." I said, "So I just have to trust that you're going to cancel it and stop the withdraws?" He replied, "Yep, pretty much." As much as life interferes from a financial standpoint for many people from time to time, I'm going to do my best to never fall back on taxes ever again so I don't ever have to deal with Scott and Andy Bowers & Associates ever again! Avoid if absolutely possible!
