I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with this law firm and Brian Ansell in particular. The lack of communication was completely unacceptable. I was ignored, left without updates, and felt totally dismissed throughout the process. If you value being informed and treated with basic respect, look elsewhere. I do not recommend this law firm or Brian Ansell. My experience was extremely frustrating due to a serious lack of communication. I was often left in the dark and found it very difficult to get updates or clear answers. I would suggest looking elsewhere for legal help.

I do not recommend this firm for family law matters. Attorney Leigh Oliver improperly obtained $10,000 awarded to me by the NJ Victims of Crime Compensation Office without my consent, falsely claiming authorization despite not representing me in any domestic violence proceedings. During my TRO hearing, she expressly told the judge she was not my attorney. When I brought this to the attention of the firm’s partner, Allison Ansell, no corrective action was taken. The funds remain unreturned. It has gotten to the point where I’ve given every opportunity for this to be corrected, and the funds to be returned to the real victims, which is myself and my daughter, and it has not happened. Now I have Been forced to hire an attorney to fight for this money in court. In custody court, things only got worse. Instead of fighting for the safety and wellbeing of my child, my attorney actually said to me, “I’m scared of the judge.” That was one of the most humiliating and disheartening moments of my life. If your attorney is afraid to advocate for you and your child, what are you really paying for? This firm failed me and my daughter in every possible way—financially, ethically, and professionally. I strongly urge anyone seeking real representation in family court to look elsewhere.

No one prepares you for how life changing a motor vehicle accident may be. Super pleased I was recommended this office. If you want a lawyer who doesn’t listen to you I’d recommend Brian Ansell. Otherwise, avoid him and his firm. We ended up getting a court appointed lawyer and had to pay Ansell as well. We won but with very little help from this firm.

Several years ago during my divorce proceedings my father passed away. When sharing how my grief affected me Allison Ansell who was my ex wife’s attorney shocked me by saying, “yes I’m sure your prayed your rosary beads and made the sign of the cross”. I chose not to pursue ethics charges but was shocked by this behavior.

I recently completed my second real estate transaction with Jonathan Sherman as my attorney and I will never do another deal without him. Jon is informative, diligent, and was able to connect us with the best people in the industry to get our transaction closed. Without Jon and his expertise I truly do not believe we would be in our new home.
