Buyer Beware......45 minutes late and unprepared on my trial date.... consistently late for our meetings and always made excuses (either "sick", "we are a small company", "Surgery" etc..) throughout the entire process. I received an answering service 90% if the time I called. I pointed out the inconsistencies and my concerns throughout, but she claimed everything was okay and on trial day, that was her specialty. but even up to the day before my trial, the team had not even reviewed all of my documents and it showed. It gets better... at the trial in closing arguements, she tells the courtroom I am a fraud. A pretty bad strategy seeing the opposing side's argument was that I was hiding income. It basically confirmed thier arguement. There were even documents and tax records I submitted which were not sent over to opposing council and used against me in court. It gets even better.... she then crashes out on the opposing attorney (who was pregnant) and makes the statement relative to the opposing attorney's unborn child being born healthy. That led to the judge throwing everyone out of the courtroom. Disaster..... It was a massacre on court day. I never stood a chance and in the end, we lost nearly everything and I was ordered to pay over $20k in fees plus the money I had to pay her. I trusted someone with a major part of me & my kids and she failed miserably....... I now understand why she pressed for payments to get the money ahead of time, because regardless of the outcome, she got paid and walked away. I have called numerous times since trial with additional questions to ask about the final documents, but of course the calls haven't been returned. Subsequently, I was able to find an attorney immediately afterwards and I was able to communicate directly with opposing council and in one interaction, rectified and modified nearly everything I asked for. My new attorney will be filing an Inneffective Assistance of Council claim with the hope to coming to a more formidable ending. Don' t take chances when it comes to hiring the best attorney for you and your family

I was referred to Attorney Askew from a Good Friend of mine. I told her I needed a good divorce attorney because the last one I hired wasn’t doing their job.
