I was represented by Autumn's associate Hunter Hendrix for a while before he left for a new firm. My paralegal Kylie was terrific, but neither of us could get responses from Hunter. He was unresponsive and dismissive. When I learned that he was leaving the firm and Autumn was taking over my case, I was nervous but it has been the best thing that could happen to my case. Autumn has gotten more done on my case in a matter of weeks than Hunter did in almost a year. She is very wise and gives excellent advice that helps the case move instead of just sitting. I watched her interact with another attorney in a recent case event and it was clear that their respect for her was much more than it was when Hunter interacted with the same lawyer. I highly recommend Autumn Blackledge and could not be happier with the way the case is unfolding now. Update: We are settling this case now!
I hired Autumn to take on my lengthy divorce case. She was my third attorney after first one became ill and had to withdraw from my case. Second one was Stephen T Holman, who was worthless. Autumn was accessible when I needed to talk to her. We were able to schedule appointments around my and her schedules. She is a an excellent mediator. She definitely did not tell me things I wanted to hear at the time but I respected her opinion and advice. Hunter was utilized by Autumn to assist me with financial side of things. I have to say I was not impressed. He saw my assets and billed me tens of thousands of dollars for doing “financial work” such as putting assets in proper columns. This is something I had already done and brought to the firm from prior lawyers. He did not listen or appear to remember as he kept asking same questions. Nina was very helpful in getting things ready for possible trial. In the end we were able to settle largely in part because of Autumn.
Warning: Be very careful. I hired Mrs. Blackledge to assist me and my family, but the experience quickly became a nightmare. She and her remote paralegal acted as though the opposing party had a strong case against me, causing significant stress. Her indifferent attitude toward my concerns and lack of responsiveness made matters worse. After consulting other attorneys, two of her colleagues confirmed there was no strong case and advised me to seek new representation if she continued to ignore my concerns. When her behavior did not improve, I politely asked her to withdraw and hired a new attorney. She left me in a difficult position, forcing me to find new counsel just before the final hearing, after charging well over $20,000. Fortunately, my new attorney quickly identified her discrepancies, took my concerns seriously, and won the case, ensuring my children’s safety. I would never recommend Mrs. Blackledge, as she is unfair and selective in how she treats clients. Even my new attorney agreed she ignored critical issues, which he successfully presented in court. Her services are overpriced and a complete waste of time.
Experienced a professional and detail oriented Attorney and Paralegal who provided sound advice and excellent services through a difficult time.
I first hired Autumn Beck Blackledge several years ago to handle my divorce, and she was outstanding then. When I found myself needing family law help again recently—another very difficult and emotionally charged situation—I didn’t hesitate to call her. She exceeded every expectation I already had, and that’s saying something. Autumn is one of those rare attorneys who manages to be incredibly busy (large family, tons of community involvement, mahjong groups, frequent travel, deep circle of friends) and still never, ever drops the ball on her clients. She is always responsive. Even when she can’t answer immediately, she sets clear expectations about when she will get back to you—and then she actually does it. During my most recent case, I was dealing with an extremely sensitive emergency and reached out on what turned out to be the very day her father-in-law passed away (plus other major personal matters going on in her life). She still took the time to personally communicate with me right away, explained that she couldn’t talk at that exact moment, told me exactly when she would be able to, and then followed through exactly when she said she would. I was honestly floored by her professionalism and integrity during what had to be an awful week for her. She is deeply compassionate and genuinely cares about how your family is going to look on the other side of the case. This isn’t just a job to her—she truly wants the best possible outcome for you and your children, and she invests herself in making that happen. She can be very direct, even bossy at times, and she will tell you the unvarnished truth (which is exactly what you need, even if it stings in the moment). Yes, her services are expensive—but when you’re going through a family law nightmare, you don’t want to gamble with anyone less skilled. Her level of expertise, preparation, and courtroom ability is top-tier. If you’re facing a divorce, timesharing issue, modification, or any other family law matter and you want someone who combines exceptional legal talent with real heart and unmatched reliability, Autumn Beck Blackledge is the attorney you want on your side. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else. Highly, highly recommend.
Autumn represented me in my divorce, and I’m forever grateful I had her and her team in my corner. In a situation that was highly complex and emotionally heavy, Autumn gave me something I never expected to receive from this process: validation. She helped me find my voice and carried it into rooms where I honestly didn’t think I would be heard. She advocated for me with fairness, tenacity, and real grit — in the courtroom and outside of it — and consistently showed up prepared, steady, and willing to fight for reality to be acknowledged. Whether directly or indirectly (and whether they realized it in the moment or not), Autumn and her team treated me with a level of respect and consideration that went beyond my expectations. I felt seen as a person, not just a case file, and I felt supported in ways that mattered. I’m not saying the process was easy, or that I got every single thing I wanted or needed exactly as I stated it that first day in her office — but I am saying I know we won in so many ways. And I will always be grateful I had this team beside me. Highly recommend Autumn to anyone who needs a divorce attorney who is skilled, relentless, and deeply professional — while still being human.
I love this team. Hunter, Autumn, Merideth, Nina have been truly amazing. Fighting for my kids has been the hardest thing I have ever done. Without their knowledge support expertise I would not have made it this far. We need people who are fighting for fathers. We need people who are fighting for kids to be with the best parent possible that’s what this team has done.
I did my homework and choose Autumn and was pleased the minute i walked in the door. She produced a written document that day. i was able to review make changes and it was done. Thanks to the whole team. jimmy
I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience working with Hunter Hendrix as my divorce attorney. From our first meeting, Hunter was not only professional and knowledgeable, but also incredibly compassionate and understanding during such a difficult time. He was always prompt in his communication, kept me informed every step of the way, and handled every detail with care. His timeliness and attention to detail made the entire process feel less overwhelming. I always felt like a priority not just another case file. Hunter fought for me with integrity and fairness, and his calm, confident presence was exactly what I needed. I’m beyond grateful for his dedication and the outcome he helped me achieve. If you’re looking for someone who is professional, dependable, and genuinely cares about your best interest Hunter Hendrix is the one you want in your corner I would recommend him every single time! Thank you, Hunter, for everything!
I worked with Autumn, Nina, and their team to represent me during my contested divorce and they made all the difference in my case. To sum it up in one sentence, I never felt alone, not for a second. From the very beginning, Autumn set clear expectations. She told me what I needed to hear, not just what I wanted to hear. That kind of honesty and professionalism gave me confidence at a time when everything else felt uncertain. Every step of the way, Autumn and Nina kept me in the loop with prompt updates, explanations that made sense, and zero surprises. Not once did I have to chase them down or wonder what was going on as they were always five steps ahead. Autumn isn’t just a family law attorney; she’s a fierce advocate and a compassionate human being. She understood what mattered most to me, and she made sure those priorities were front and center. Her presence in the courtroom was poised, prepared, and powerful. She remembered every single minute detail and didn’t let up. Most of all, what stood out was how deeply invested she and her entire team were. They don’t just work your case, they care about your life. That level of dedication is rare. And when you’re in one of the most vulnerable chapters of your life, that kind of support is everything. If you’re looking for someone who will show up, stand firm, and truly fight for you, while treating you with the respect and empathy you deserve, Autumn is that person. Hiring her was one of the best decisions I made. I walked away from this experience stronger, and that’s thanks in large part to her and Nina.
Autumn Blackledge is an attorney that cares and works for her clients. She will study every single detail of your case to identify the best plan to achieve your desired outcomes. She will not back down in a fight for her clients. I have had multiple legal issues that have required that I use different attorneys in Pensacola. I have had the best experience with Autumn Blackledge by far. She does not "milk" her clients for money like the other attorneys in this city will do. In fact, I have found her prices to be extremely fair and transparent. I highly recommend Autumn Blackledge for your legal issues.
Edit: Your reply has been saved and will be posted in case you delete it. Response: Thank you so much for responding, you've done a wonderful job of proving my point. Everything you've said is a lie. The attached files show: -I did ask for the remaining unused balance of $930, and the trust of $500 8/26/20. -You refunded the trust on 9/3, AFTER I asked for it, and almost 6 months after his death. -3/18/20 at 3:20pm you stated "we will be getting your dissolution of marriage filed as soon as possible". I informed you of death 3/20/20 at 12:22am. Please show me the completed and signed settlement. -3/26/20 you stated "As far as changing name, we need a death certificate and then it should be no problem." I also asked if unused retainer could be used to complete name change 9/3/20, but to no avail. -As of 9/30/20 the remaining retainer was $930, confirmed by your accountant. 10/17/20 I received an invoice for $185.90. -10/27/20 I responded that the remaining retainer was more than enough to cover the bill and that we were no longer in business together. Your accountant confirmed, saying it was for informational purposes. So, where's the money grab, Autumn? How do I owe you $832.50? The Florida Bar said I had a civil case against you. No desire to deal with anymore lawyers, after you. Update: I just passed the 5 year anniversary of my husband's suicide. I wanted to commemorate it by sharing that information with you, and to keep my story fresh. However that seems to be unnecessary as it's been a quite popular review. In your response, you claim to not take these matters lightly. You sure did. You took all my money and did nothing. You even refused to complete the changing of my last name, telling me to do it through the courts. I paid you for that in the agreement. It will cost me over $400 to do it myself. You admonish me for telling this publicly and for me to contact you. You've had all my information, you could have contacted me. At this point, I will continue to keep my story fresh. I sincerely hope that one day I will be able to update this review and give you all the stars possible, if you truly make this right and refund every dollar I gave you. Very bad service and will rip you off. Quick to respond until you give them money, then good luck! While waiting in office before my consultation, some of the girls were talking major drama about coworkers, it was quite unprofessional and I should have left then. I spoke to a different person each interaction so I had to basically start over every time. I emailed questions about financial affidavit and didn't get away response for 40 days, despite multiple calls and emails attempting to get a response. I turned in signed settlement and asked to proceed with filing immediately. Found out 2 weeks later that they hadn't even done anything and my husband had since passed away. Months later, I contacted the office to ask for consideration in refunding unused retainer and court fee trust since my husband had committed suicide, and the firm had basically accomplished very little on the divorce. I was refunded the court fee trust only and was met with disdain for even asking. Had I not asked, I'm sure they would have just kept it all. I was told I wouldn't recieve any of the remaining retainer, and that her terms were spelled out in the agreement. There was not a clause in it pertaining to suicide. Responses were becoming rude and I was being charged for every email so I ceased communication. I was then sent a bill for emails and my retainer mysteriously disappeared, equating to being charged over $1100 for 2 emails. I was sent another invoice adding late fees to it and expecting immediate payment. I pointed out that the unused retainer was more than enough to cover the bill, and that our business together had ended. They agreed and back pedaled, saying invoices were "just for information purposes." ... with late fees? Really? The only recommendation I can give is to not hire this firm.
Melody,
Your review is untrue and a manipulative attempt to be returned money that you are not owed. You failed to say that you paid our office $2,500 to do an uncontested dissolution of marriage, which was completed and while waiting on a Judge to sign off on it, your husband sadly committed suicide. At the time that the suicide occurred, you asked for a full refund of your entire retainer even though the work had all been completed. At the time of the suicide, I refunded your unused trust balance of $500. You then proceeded to request additional services be performed that were unnecessary since you were then widowed- i.e. a name change and when you were still angry that you had to pay the initial $2,500 you filed a complaint with the Florida Bar which was rejected because it was clear you were just trying to get money back for services that we had already performed. In fact, your first request said, "I would appreciate it your office would consider giving me a refund in light of my tragic situation. My husband committed suicide so I no longer need a divorce." Of course, the work had already been done by my office.

You still owe a balance to me on your account in the amount of $832.50 for work done on your account after the suicide. I have not attempted to collect this amount. It is clear that when you did not get the result you wanted from the Florida Bar to get your money back, then you resorted to the use of a negative review to try to get me to refund the money hoping that you would "change it to a 5 star review" if I refunded you. This was never about my abilities as a attorney on your case, but a manipulative money grab.
Hunter and Meredith were amazing and tried so incredibly hard to negotiate with opposing party and his counsel. Unfortunately after seven long draining years I’m out of money and I give up. However as vicious as my my ex is, at least I had Hunter and Meredith for a while. Thank you both. You both tried so hard.
Attorney Autumn Beck Blackledge is an absolute force in family law. I had the privilege of observing her represent my friend through a highly contentious divorce where litigation abuse was a constant tactic from the opposing party. Despite the intensity and complexity of the case, Autumn remained unwavering—sharp, strategic, and deeply compassionate. Her expertise in family law was clear at every turn. She not only protected my friend’s rights, but also provided the kind of steady leadership and advocacy that made all the difference. Her attention to detail, courtroom presence, and ability to stay two steps ahead were simply outstanding. I also want to highlight her incredible staff—especially Cara—who was consistently professional, responsive, and supportive. The entire team made an incredibly difficult time more manageable, and they treated my friend with genuine care and dignity. If you're facing a challenging divorce or need a strong, experienced advocate, I cannot recommend Autumn Beck Blackledge and her team highly enough. They are truly exceptional.
Ms. Beck Blackledge is an exceptional family law attorney who fought tirelessly for me during my nearly three-year divorce case. Despite my ex-spouse’s litigation abuse, financial manipulation, and delay tactics, she remained strategic, knowledgeable, and always one step ahead. Her expertise and dedication ensured the best possible outcome, and I couldn’t be more grateful. If you need a strong advocate who won’t back down, I highly recommend Ms. Beck Blackledge, her partner and her administrative team. I would not trust my next chapter with anyone else!
Heed the warnings of all the others who say she's unethical and unprofessional. Many years later, I still have a bad taste in my mouth and fully regret hiring Autumn Blackledge. I do not recommend that you trust this firm with handling your family's legal matters, ESPECIALLY if children are involved. Based on the experiences of myself and multiple others, you'll likely end up paying alimony and/or child support to your ex due to her inattention to the most important details of your case, not to mention the revolving door of paralegals that will handle your information. At my initial consultation, I mentioned that I wasn't concerned about receiving child support from my ex, I was only seeking additional time sharing. She twisted my words during mediation when the mediator was with the other party, saying she'd written it down in her case notes that I wasn't worried about PAYING child support. When negotiations came to a standstill, I said I didn't agree to what was outlined and would rather move forward with the judge. I felt intimidated into signing the agreement anyway because she threatened to write a "strongly-worded letter" advising against doing so, essentially refusing to represent me in front of the judge. In hindsight, there was an obvious power imbalance in that moment and she had no issue establishing her dominance in the situation just to get it over with. This tracks with reviews from others stating that if you challenge anything she says or correct any of her misinterpreted facts of your case, she immediately threatens to withdraw from your case. It's also worth mentioning that at one time she implemented a monthly $140 "file maintenance fee" on top of the annual maintenance fee outlined in the retainer agreement, which I personally believe is a move to price clients out once she can't be bothered to deal with your case anymore. Ultimately, I paid an upwards of $15,000 over two years and did not accomplish anything with my case that I initially set out to. I agree with others who say it seems like she works in support of the opposing party; she was actively texting with the opposing attorney during our mediation. Call every other family law firm in town (and surrounding areas if needed) before you consider giving this firm a dime!
We do not recognize the name associated with this review and do not have a client by this name. However, we will address the concerns raised generally.
In any legal case, it is our duty to provide honest and strategic advice based on the facts and applicable law. Clients sometimes take positions that are not legally viable or reasonable, and when that happens, we must advise them accordingly. If a strong settlement offer is presented, we have an obligation to inform our client when rejecting it would be against legal advice. This is similar to an "Against Medical Advice" warning that healthcare providers issue when a patient refuses recommended treatment. In these cases, we routinely provide written "Against Legal Advice" letters when a client insists on pursuing a position that is unlikely to succeed in court.
With regard to communication with opposing counsel, a good attorney must be able to communicate effectively with the other side to negotiate the best possible outcome for their client. Mediation often involves back-and-forth communication, and sometimes texting is used to clarify or expedite the process, particularly when there are concerns about how information is being conveyed by the mediator.
Regarding the "file maintenance fee," this is now an annual fee, which covers administrative costs such as copies and other case-related expenses that could otherwise be billed separately.
As for our staff, we take great pride in having a highly experienced and dedicated team. Our paralegals have been with the firm for many years—one for 11 years, another for 5, one for over 4 years, and our newest paralegal has been here for over 2 years. While some staff members have moved or changed career paths over the last decade, there is no "revolving door" as suggested.
We always aim to provide the best legal representation possible and ensure our clients are fully informed about their options. While we understand that not every case outcome will align with a client's expectations, our priority is always to advocate for what is legally sound and in their best interest.
I hired Autumn for a complicated divorce with child custody for a special needs child. Autumn and Kyli-Addison were tenacious in protecting my daughter and they pushed until the end to get the best agreement for me and my child. There is no one better than Autumn on difficult child custody cases!
My husband and I went to Hunter Hendrix for a prenatal rights termination and step parent adoption. He and paralegal, Cara, were both amazing! During our initial consultation, Hunter went over everything with us and explained everything we needed to know and what we would need going forward. As soon as we had everything we needed, Hunter and Cara worked quickly to get everything filed and get us a hearing. Communication was great, Cara answered my half a million questions and always kept us updated. We had a perfect outcome at the hearing and couldn’t be happier!
Hunter Hendrix with the Autumn Beck Blackledge firm is the best family law attorney I have ever had the pleasure of working with in this area. He is professional, kind, and knowledgeable. Would recommend 10/10. Thank you!
