I had little chance of getting my driver's license back on my own at a DMV Hearing, so I Googled "best rated DMV hearing lawyers in NC". Mark jetton was the first to pop up. After I looked at his website, which hales him as one of the top 10 DMV hearing lawyers in NC. So I ended up hiring him. It costed me over $8,000. I ended up doing EVERYTHING in the process myself. I had to wait about a year before I could start the process because I had messed up and got caught driving with no license again. But after that time was up and it WAS time to start the process, HE told me he had talked to a DA, (which do not know about DMV laws and regulations), and that the DA said I wasn't eligible for my hearing yet, and that it would be ANOTHER year before I could start the process. I KNEW that wasn't true and stood up to him on that matter and told him I was moving forward with the hearing process anyway and found out I was right about already being eligible despite what he said. First of all, why would a supposed EXPERT DMV HEARING LAWYER ask a court DA about a DMV Hearing? They don't know that field. That shook my faith in him tremendously because HE was supposed to be AWESOME at this and he's telling me I wasn't even eligible for the hearing yet when I WAS? Well, I wanted. To fire him then, but he had held $5000 of his fee for almost 2 years and I knew I wouldn't be able to get it back. So I kept him. I did EVERYTHING myself to schedule my DMV hearing and after the 7-8 month process finally got it. He came from Charlotte to Gastonia to "represent" me, but basically said nothing in the hearing to increase my chances of getting my license back. I had been hoping all that time that just HAVING hired a lawyer for my hearing would increase my chances of getting my license restored. But it didn't. I was not given a decision that day, but almost 3 weeks later received a letter telling me I was denied restoration. And the reason I was turned down was because I was being treated for extreme anxiety by a psychiatrist with ONE 1mg Xanax a day. I found out later that being prescribed anxiety medication is in the top 3 reasons for being denied restoration at a DMV hearing! If Mark Jetton had have had ANY experience at DMV hearings like his website claimed he was, he would have KNOWN that I would be turned down for that prescription of one Xanax a day and WARNED me to end that prescription well before the hearing so I wouldn't be turned down over it. But he knew all about it for months before the hearing and said nothing. So overall, I had a 100% disappointing experience by hiring Mark Jetton for my DMV hearing. $8,000+ down the drain. The Internet LIES!!!
