Beware: Career Guard Fails to Protect When It Matters Most "I strongly advise anyone considering Career Guard Liability Insurance to look elsewhere. In my experience, they do absolutely nothing to protect their clients from unscrupulous allegations. Instead of being a shield, they take a 'sit back and wait' approach that leaves you vulnerable to the very people they are supposed to protect you from. My appointed attorneys, Avery, Dooley & Noone, were equally disappointing. They failed to provide proper representation and neglected critical steps in my defense, such as conducting necessary depositions. Before signing up, do your homework. Ask them directly: 'What is your success rate?' and 'When was the last time you actually won a case in court?' Do not be fooled—a settlement is NOT a win if the insurance company and their counselors did nothing to fight for you. They prioritize easy exits over actual defense. Seek a company that is actually willing to stand up for its clients."

I was wrongfully terminated in November 2024. Thankfully I had liability insurance, I am even more thankful that Avery Dooley & Noone, LLP were chosen to represent me. Avery Dooley & Noone accepted an engagement to assist the Rotary Club of Arlington MA to form a 501c3 corporation to facilitate its charitable fund-raising activities. Peter Noone (quality oversight) and Danielle Gifford (hands-on legal counsel) were the principals involved. The firm provided a cost estimate in advance and stayed on budget. We had heard various stories from other Rotary Clubs and different organizations that this could be seven-to-twelve month process. The firm worked closely with us in developing drafts of articles of organization, corporate by-laws, conflict-of-interest guidelines and IRS filing documents. We started in late December, and had our state filings in February, which were approved within days. With the firm's guidance, we filed our IRS documents in March and received approval in April, which none of our prior consultants believed could have been possible. I have had dozens of engagements with legal counsel in my decades as CEO and director of several companies. Peter Noone and Danielle Gifford made this engagement among the best.

I became familiar with this firm when Peter Noone and Brien Connolly joined as co-counsel to assist me in representing a client whose case was ready for hearing. Mr. Connolly observed and made notes of the proceedings for later analysis after adjournment each day. Mr. Noone sat at counsel’s table for witness examination. I had the pleasure of watching Mr. Noone cross-examine a key adverse witness. In a seemingly deferential manner, he methodically dismantled the witness’s prior testimony and destroyed her credibility. It was a joy to behold his trial advocacy skills.
