We had a terrible family situation: my relative was wrongly placed in a South Florida "behavioral" facility against their will after, innocently phoning a "crisis hotline." After 72 hours it became clear that the behavioral facility personnel had no intention of releasing my relative. I began to research and become familiar with the Florida "Baker Act" and its ramifications and terrible possibilities. Mark and his team immediately returned my call regarding an unjustified Baker Act designation of a family member. They gathered relevant information and filed a petition with the court the same day, and the Baker Act hold was released the next morning. They did an outstanding job. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

We came to Florida for vacation and my daughter was wrongfully put under the Baker Act. Not being from Florida I was not familiar with what it was, but after doing some research I immediately contacted Astor Simovitch Law Firm. The entire team went above and beyond! The very first phone call they gave me way more information on the Baker Act than I could find online and explained every step of the process to get my daughter out as soon as possible. As soon as I paid the retainer they went to work. I paid it after hours on a Tuesday and they still got all the paperwork wrote up, filed with the court and faxed to the hospital. They next morning they went to work to get the hearing with the courts as soon as possible and served the hospital with papers. By 11:30 a.m. my daughter was released! Britnee was super helpful and patient when trying to get information on how to release someone who was baker acted longer than three days. Fortunately, he was released as we were on the call. Although the services were not needed, the initial interaction was pleasant. Deffo 5 stars.
