Dawn Domino , Most unprofessional misleading, no communication with Laura Baluch . I always had a witness actually sat n lied to both my self n the person I had with me . Right when I walked out of meeting I phoned my accountant to find out if taxes were put on extension ,as Laura told us. The accountant said absolutely not sent in . This office likes to use attorneys within the firm so had Kari Johnson for a OP , asked for a phone conference or in office meeting never phoned or talked to her , But she talked with the opposing attorney that wanted my case back with the judge I didn’t want to be in front of ,so without my consent or any interaction she got it put in the court room opposing attorney wanted it to be heard . The OP never was heard so I could bring witnesses n pictures . The judge dismissed it .And Laura gives talks to clients about caring about them , and helping them ,,, That was a great sales pitch .The other attorney I spoke with told me he wasn’t a real estate attorney my case needed to have someone versed in this . so he had no idea what he was doing ,he told me …wrote up a document n of course things not right in this document I let him know,He actually got very upset .He never revised anything in this document to show me changes He billed me 4000 $ excessive what I saw you twice n you wrote a document that wasn’t right telling me you had no idea what you were doing .He added I was lucky it wasn’t 20 thousand I guess to justify his excessive bill of 4000 $ That was that hadn’t heard another word nothing ties cut at that point . Than he filed a quiet title lawsuit no telling me or asking no communication in any way whatsoever.He had no consent from me to do so . So walked into court not knowing why I was there even the judge knew I was very confused . Now I’m left with a mess they created with out my knowledge or consent . Absolutely worst mistake retaining her …7000$ she knew nothing about my case . Fired her in June , May 31 I received a bill 1100 $ about two weeks later fired her she wants 3400 $ more . So 10,000 for nothing I mean absolutely nothing … No communication, excessive. Billing misleading me n lies … I’m still trying to pinch myself to see if it was all a nightmare. I’m writing a review but will be following up with a formal complaint . Address wrong on bill n Emails sent to my phone from her other clients .

Emailed this attorney and called twice, leaving messages with her receptionist. They never called back. Hard to recommend with that kind of communication.

$3,500 dollars down the drain from a lack of communication, false promises, and excuses of why it took 4.5 months to write a motion/petition to modify parental allocation which oddly referred to me as the mother (she/her) in the language. I switched counsel because of no movement and had $200 left from my retainer which was never reimbursed even after calling the firm’s office asking for payment. Moreover, she was unprepared for court and got talked over by the other party’s lawyer. I got the results I was looking for elsewhere.

I concur with the reviews that say lack of communication and they waste your time.

Laura and her staff are a powerhouse of a team behind you. They won my case and worth every dollar I spent with them. Highly recommended for any type of family law you're looking for.

Laura Baluch is the best attorney in Rockford. I wish I had more time to write a more thorough review but she saved my life. Having her on my side was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She genuinely cares about your case and she is aggressive and persistent!! This woman is on fire!! Glad to know her and would continue to use her for future reference.

Terrible Attorney, No Communication, Does not Read Emails. Always was Unprepared in Court. She made a stressful time, much more so. Huge waste of Time and Money! Her Staff was just a frustrating to work with! I would Steer Clear of this Whole Firm! NEGLECTFUL ATTORNEY!

Laura has been my lawyer for many years. When you seek a family law lawyer you already know your life has turned upside down. It is not the best feeling in the world, but since talking to Laura that very first day I felt like I had someone to help me get to a place where my family could come to a mutual agreement. I would not have known what to do without her guidance and knowledge. When I was frustrated, she was frustrated right along with me because sometimes it can take many court dates to reach an end. With every court date, Laura knew exactly what to do next and was very straightforward on what to expect. She has a very bright and inviting personality and a even bigger heart for her clients situations.

This office loves to bill and accomplish nothing. Had to fill out paperwork multiple times due to the office misplacing it or just never sending it to opposing counsel. Had to call and ask for updates due to having had court appearances and no notification or updates only to never actually get any information. I learned of updated court dates by going to the county website. Rarely return calls or emails unless being critical of how things are beinf handled. I actually had more cases updates through opposing client than I did this office. All the while getting billed $350 a shot to review the case file when nothing had changed in almost a year and multiple court dates. If Laura responds to this review it will be the first time I've spoken to her in a year. Any other business that runs like this one would be out of business in a year. Just so happenes this one takes your money upfront and then gouges you until you say enough is enough.

All she did was take $2500 from me empty promises and excuses ...I lost so much money because of her and she didn't care..only thing she did was send me bills

Strangest review ever? Possibly. Laura represented my ex-husband as counsel in our divorce proceedings. He was so very lucky to have her representation. I watched Laura in court and saw her competence come through with poise and a strong understanding of the law. She represented my ex well and seemed to do her best to avoid litigation, rather than encourage it. This is a huge consideration when you are looking for a family law attorney and a characteristic you must not overlook. Furthermore, her professionalism spoke loud, and her representation was steadfast. There are very few attorneys I would list as top in their profession, but Laura is definitely one of them (her opposing counsel on my behalf being in that group, as well. Court was very (emphasis) interesting!) Yes, I breathed a sigh of relief when my ex removed her as counsel just a few months into our 3.5 year ordeal of a divorce. Unfortunately, his follow-up choices paled in comparison to the representation I saw he received from Laura. While there are many choices you may be considering when facing the tumultuous onset of a life-changing event such as divorce or other family legal matters, you should make sure to include Laura in those you interview during your search for the perfect fit to represent you in court. I have no qualms in stating that I rank her as one of the top family law attorneys in Rockford - as do many others. Moreover, I admire her courtroom presence, her work ethic, the support she gives to her community, and her straight-up, over-the-charts smarts. She is one of a handful who have inadvertently influenced me to pursue a career in law simply by the work they've done in and out of the courtroom. Now, how many lawyers have the opposing party leave a positive review? I'm not sure one can be complimented much further,. Laura earned it.
