I called Barrios & Machado one year after my car accident. I was getting nowhere with the insurance companies and I knew it was time to consult a lawyer. It was the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The lawyer, Guillermo Machado called me back within the hour. He started by telling me that the call was free and he would not pressure me into anything. He would listen and then offer whatever words of advice or encouragement he could, which is exactly what he did. He told me he was a Christian lawyer, which was good know as I am a Christian woman. He spent over an hour with me on the phone. He set my mind at ease about many things including my concerns, and about the lawyers I had already consulted with. He told me he wouldn’t take my case, not because he didn’t want to but because he was unable to take it on, as he does a different type of case now. He told me about the other two lawyers I spoke to recently and that they were both excellent and that I would be in great hands with either. I vacationed to France and Italy with my husband, and it was supposed to be a lovely few weeks. And it was just until we boarded our return flight back from Milan to Paris. I called Mr. Machado at the end of January, 2021. My crash happened early 2019 and I hadn't received any treatment for my injuries, but I was still hurt and it wasn't going away. He was gracious enough to take my case and when the statute of limitations came to file a lawsuit, he was again kind enough to do it while he "investigated thoroughly who and what was involved." The world closed to Covid, but Mr. Machado kept my hopes alive.
