I had an appointment scheduled with David Schwartz, but instead a junior attorney came into the conference room and didn’t even look up for at least 30 seconds while greeting me. I was later told that David had to leave for a personal reason, but I wasn't told I'd be meeting with someone else. The attorney who replaced him, Justin Thomas, didn't shake my hand and clearly didn’t seem interested in being there. He gave a quick glance at the DPOA in question and said there was nothing to be done—without asking any questions about the Trust or the broader situation. He did spend some time with me, but shut me down on all questions that I had without asking for other facts. Since then, I’ve consulted with several other attorneys who provided more thoughtful insights, and fortunately, I was able to resolve the issue and reach a settlement without hiring anyone. If you’re looking for an attorney who is proactive, engaged, and ready to handle a complex estate or probate battle, I cannot recommend this firm.
