I've had him for two different court cases, don't be like me and be a fool twice. He's not honest and only cares about the money. I've had other lawyers do more for less.
If i could give zero stars i would. Peter Berger is a horrible attorney and could not take 2 min to answer a question regarding a traffic ticket so i could schedule a in person meeting with him and possibly hire me to represent me. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS RUDE MAN. There are better more polite lawyers out there. Toatly deserves negative stars for his rating!!!!
Terrible attorney. I paid him $5,000 upfront for his retainer. He barely did any work. He was rude and didn't let me get a word in. On one of my court dates the judge literally was yelling at him. Because he made such a big mistake. He charged me wat more money then what we agreed on. Him & I would go back and forth. We would argue. That's way to much. He even told me to not come to his office anymore. Fine by me. Just return the rest of my money. He showed me his expensive Louis Vuitton loafers. He's quite a character. I would've did better with another Public Defender cause the same deal they offered me is what Peter got me. He's not trustworthy at all. He told me he was retiring after my case. Hopefully 🤞 he's gone.
Had him a long time ago back 20 plus years and was amazing. Definitely ever need a criminal lawyer attorney again hopefully not but he’s my first phone call.
Peter is the BEST lawyer in Iowa! He knows what he’s doing especially in court! Don’t ever underestimate Peter! He will get the job done! Just let him do his job! He knows what he’s doing! All you people saying he’s arrogant. Well he’s a lawyer and if you want the job done that’s how they have to be!
Thank You! Very Much
Withheld important details on my brothers case. Wouldn’t use witnesses. State must of paid him to lose this one.
This guy is old school; many contacts, knows the system, the law, and will be realistic with what you can expect but do everything possible to deliver the best scenario. Would definitely recommend, goes above and beyond, a plethora of advice and affordable. Would absolutely use again.
I came here fully intending to leave a lengthy, scathing review about Peter Berger's lack of professionalism and poor manners, as reflected in my recent online interactions with him. However, I've just looked at the abundance of one-star reviews that he has received, and those reviewers have covered it all. In summary: BEST AVOIDED.
Never returned my call a punk lawyer
He did an ok job. No happy about the extra charges he tacked on at the last minute. He insisted on an extra $500 the day before the final hearing (which when we paid him his retainer he said it would take care of it. He did nothing extra. Nothing). This was on a Sunday. What were we to do? The hearing was at 10am the following day. Can't really get another lawyer up to speed on time for that. Asked him on multiple occasions for a bill for the extra fees and what it was for. Never ever got one. You decide if you want to put up with him. You may not find a better lawyer but you may find a good one that has more respect for their clients.
This is in response to all the negative reviews on here. Peter Berger helped save my life about a decade ago. If you want someone to get you the best deal possible, go with Peter Berger. If on the other hand, you want someone to listen to your BS, pat you on the back, and tell you everything's going to be okay, go to a therapist.
He's a douche.
Esquire Gajdel is old school meaning that he is well rounded in all areas of his profession. I have witnessed his expertise for the past 5-6 years as a client and I am still amazed that he continues to weed out the negatives in situations that can be extremely overwhelming and exhausting. I use the term "old school" as in my opinion should not be taken as a weakness so to speak because if I were I a betting person, all bets would be in Esquire Gajdel's corner. Not to mention down the hall on the other side is Esquire Berger's office. These two (2) legal experts have the reputations, respect and resources that a lot of the newer legal counsels will never touch upon. No disrespect but that's part of that "old school'..............it goes a long way.....
