Earlier this year I was watching TV and an ad for BK saying to call them if you've smoked and have had lung cancer. I met both criteria but am not the type to sue others and definitely didn't want part of any class action suit. Over the next few weeks, I saw the ad a few times and still ignored it. I was reading some things about how the tobacco companies went out of their way to addict people like me, got very angry, and decided to call BK just to see what they could do. It was a great decision on my part. This was not class action, my suit was rated on its own merits and accepted. There were different suits entered on my behalf against different companies that provided me the cigarettes, addiction and cancer. To my amazement the first company settled within a matter of months and a second should be doing so very shortly. The team at BK were great, asking all of the right questions and keeping me up to date on all progress. All I ever had to do was provide access to some records and answer some questions. I didn't have to go to court, testify at deposition, or be questioned by the tobacco companies. Colleen from BK guided me through the entire process and always left me feeling that they were on my side and wouldn't let me down. I will owe her and the team a debt of gratitude as long as I live, which I hope will be a long time. I would strongly urge anyone who has had to go through lung cancer to contact and work with the BK team.
