Overall, an incredible law firm that was very client-centered and demonstrated in various ways how deeply they cared about my family. Attorneys for the firm including Amy Bradley were equal parts smart, strategic, caring, and kind. They were able to secure a settlement that was favorable to our family and did so without much need for oversight. Once they helped our family understand potential goals and objectives we could achieve, they listened to what we wanted and fought hard for those goals. Their communication was consistent as was their focus on our case over the year we worked with Blakingship. I contacted Robert E. Scully Jr. regarding a potential defamation and tortious interference matter after being referred by another attorney. From the outset, I was not permitted to fully explain the facts of my case before conclusions were drawn. I was repeatedly interrupted and told that I “still had my job,” as though that alone resolved the legal analysis, without hearing the full scope of what occurred. When I attempted to clarify certain legal issues, including a fiduciary duty component relevant to my situation, the tone shifted from dismissive to openly condescending. I was told, “Since you know everything, you must be a better attorney than I am.” I fully understand that attorneys decline cases. A simple, professional statement that the firm was not interested would have been entirely appropriate. Instead, the interaction became adversarial during what should have been an intake call. The tone and manner of the conversation left me deeply uncomfortable. I ultimately ended the call because it no longer felt productive or professional. I am physically unsettled even writing this. Based on this experience, I would not recommend him for individuals seeking counsel in sensitive employment or reputational matters.
