I highly recommend that you don't use their services. Were supposed to contact me within ten days after I filed out my incident report, which clearly showed negligence. They said my case didn't reach the level of incompetency, When the Doctor, nurse and witnesses stated there was neglect on the part of my services which almost caused me to die. The secretary tried to say that we were in violation of the statute of limitations when we had submitted our paperwork three days after the incident. This was not true. If I didn't call back, I would have never heard from them.
Mario, thank you for your response. We did receive your information on January 16, 2026, and after review of the information you provided we responded with a letter emailed to you on January 22, 2026 at the email address you provided to our office. The correspondence you received by email indicated the various reasons we could not proceed with your matter. We apologize for the information you may have received from our receptionist, but the statute of limitations was not an issue in your circumstance, and the letter sent to you by email set forth the various considerations which -- as a small law firm -- we must consider in the very complex world of medical negligence cases in North Carolina. We are sorry we were unable to accept your particular claim, and we encourage those seeing this review to consider reviews by those individuals whose cases we have actually provided legal representation upon, rather than reviews from individuals who presented claims we were unable to accept.
I haven't used this law firm yet, but I did reach out because I wasn't sure where to start or what type of attorney I needed. McKenna took the time to answer all of my questions and truly went above and beyond. She was compassionate, patient, and made me feel like she genuinely cared about my situation. Based on my experience, I would give her 5 stars. Very helpful and kind. I would absolutely use this firm in the future and highly recommend their services.
I found Jenny after running into so many dead ends, after being rear-ended by a school bus in March 2024. Honestly, I thought the worst part would be my car being totaled but, it spiraled from there and it was close to 18 months of huge changes and frequent doctor visits, and it was only recently life started to get back to normal. Jenny and Maddie were there for me the entire time, with patience, compassion, and kindness. They answered all of my phone calls, emails, texts, with no issues. They made sure I didn’t have any problems with the legal side, and were constantly checking in to make sure I was doing okay. They truly cared for me as a person, when I could barely function. I truly appreciate them both, and all of the individuals I interacted with at Brown, Moore, and Associate because no matter how I was dressed, or what kind of day I was having. They were always so kind, and smiling, which is hard to find. They are genuine, from beginning to end, and I can’t tell you enough how bless and lucky I am to have found Jenny and Maddie.
Thank you for these incredibly kind words, Jen! We are very lucky to have both Jenny and Maddie who are tireless advocates for our clients. It was our privilege to be able help you out with such an important matter!
Jon Moore and his team provided formal counsel with compassion to our situation. We were kept well informed throughout every step off our case.
Thank you for these very kinds words Bob. It was definitely our privilege to be of assistance in your case.
Courtney and Jill at Brown Moore are absolutely fantastic. My case did take a while to resolve but they worked with me and patiently. Great results and they did work in my favor. Would absolutely recommend!
Thank you so much for the kinds words Kiara! We are very fortunate to have Courtney and Jill, both of whom work so hard. I know they considered it their privilege to help you out on this important case!
Thanks to Ms Courtney Mann for an amazing experience for my daughter and I. If you're ever looking for an Attorney who can handle both simple and complex cases she's definitely a great fit. She's a great listener and an even better overall person who displays genuine character.
Thank you so much for those very kind words! Courtney is definitely a great advocate for our clients. It was our pleasure and privilege to help you and your daughter to just compensation.
Best law firm by far , kind , caring. Helen and McKenna worked so hard to get me a settlement for my bodily injury case and went above and beyond. Checked on me prayed for me and I couldn’t have asked for a better legal team to fight for me. Thank you guys God Bless
Thank you for those kinds words Chloe! We are very lucky to have Helen and McKenna, and their dedication to our client's well-being and recovery!
Just because the state of NC put a cap on medical malpractice they don’t want to take these cases. I had a heart attack because of a doctor’s patient neglect and was told by the firm that the case would be too pricey. Don’t waste your time calling them for medical malpractice. Reading reviews they apparently send out the same email to every person with these cases stating it’s too pricey. I did some research and doctors are getting sued in the state of NC. With so much malpractice in this state I don’t believe no law firm are willing to help people. I guess car accidents are easy work and pay more.
Brian, we understand your frustration. However, like the other 1-star reviews you reference, we were unable to accept you as a client, and that appears to be the basis of your complaint, rather than your feedback providing any review of legal services you did receive. These cases are incredibly complex in North Carolina. We do handle medical malpractice cases in our office, and have several at present. But with approximately 750 inquiries for medical malpractice per year, and only two attorneys who handle these cases, we just cannot take every matter. You would have received a letter explaining the many reasons why we can't accept certain cases, and the cost of these cases (typically more than $100,000 in expenses is just one of the factors). It is an important factor because we do not believe a client should spend more than he/she may reasonably expect to recover.

That said, if you had contacted our office to ask for a more detailed explanation -- as many do -- we would have been happy to provide you one for your particular circumstances. Specifically, in your circumstances the treatment you reported receiving would have been no different than the treatment you would have received had the doctor been more attentive to your care. When this happens, there is not a viable lane for a medical malpractice case. Ordinarily, cases involving a delay in diagnosis are viable when the outcome is different or treatment is different. Unfortunately, in cases involving heart attacks (or a potential heart attack) this means that these claims are only viable when the failure to recognize the signs/symptoms results in death. Fortunately, that was not the situation in your circumstances. Otherwise, treatment (whether stenting or bypass grafting) is typically the same regardless of the delay in treatment, and long-term issues are also ordinarily the same.

While we appreciate your feedback, and understand your frustration, I think it is fair to say that your review does not fairly characterize the quality of our actual legal representation, as you were not in fact a client of our Firm.
Matthew took on a medical malpractice case with fierce dedication and a thoughtfulness, being in constant communication and guiding us every step of the way. His expertise and relentless effort led to a successful outcome. I highly recommend Matthew as an exceptional attorney!!
Lauren, thank you for your very kinds words and recommendation of Matthew. He does wonderful work and we are lucky to have him. It was our pleasure to help you out, and we are thrilled to hear you were satisfied with the outcome!
Jenny and the team were absolutely incredible, truly can’t say enough good things about them!
Thank you Mitch! Jenny does great work and we are happy to have her. It was our pleasure to help you out with your case, and we're thrilled it was a great result!
I cannot speak highly enough about Jon and his legal team. Despite reaching out during a holiday, Jon responded promptly and with a thorough explanation of why the firm couldn’t represent our case. His professionalism, sincerity, and attention to detail were unmatched, especially compared to the dismissive responses we’ve received from other highly reputed firms in the area. Jon’s compassionate and respectful approach truly stood out. He took the time to review our case carefully and provided thoughtful feedback, which was greatly appreciated during a stressful time. While the firm wasn’t able to take our case, I wouldn’t hesitate to refer others to them or seek their expertise in the future. Their professionalism and genuine care for their clients do not go unnoticed. Thank you, Jon, for setting such a high standard in legal representation!
Thank you for very the kind words Ali! We regret we were unable to be of assistance, but wish you the best!
Was trying to get a 30min consult over phone and asked to fill out an online form. Only to be emailed back with more or less of "not going to hear the case because its too pricy"
Lilli, we are sorry about your experience. If you were asked to fill out an online form it is because you called about a potential medical negligence case. We do get several calls per day for those, because our North Carolina Legislature has made it so expensive to pursue these cases that very few firms do actually now pursue those cases. We are one of about 3 or 4 in Charlotte who continue to do this work (you likely did not contact a law firm that advertise on TV or billboards). Because we are a small firm - and get a high volume of calls - we unfortunately had to move to an online form as that was the only way to get information about potential cases while still maintaining the time necessary to dedicate our ongoing efforts to existing clients.

If you received an emailed reply from our Firm, it would have listed multiple reasons why we did not believe we could be of assistance on your particular set of facts. It was not a letter simply saying we could not help "because its too pricy." The costs of pursing a medical negligence case routinely exceed $100,000, and getting these cases through a trial routinely exceed $200,000. That does not include attorneys' fees. Rather, it is actually the necessary costs of getting your case through a jury trial without even paying an attorney. In the best interest of our clients, we have to consider that as a factor. No client wants to go through the cost and misery of a medical malpractice case, and then be left owing money at the end of it, even with a jury verdict in their favor. Unfortunately, our Legislature has made "cost" a factor, which is why so few Firms continue to do this work. On top of that, our Legislature has limited the amount a person can recover in many medical malpractice cases to approximately $680,000. So, you can imagine why a case may not be feasible for a client because with the legal expenses that may be incurred, many clients may still be left with very little or nothing due to our laws in North Carolina. We don't ever decline representation on a case because it is "too pricy," but we will decline representation if we feel as though we can't leave our client in a better position because of the laws as they exist in North Carolina.

There are a lot of nuanced factors that go into a determination about a potential medical malpractice case. Again, there are very few firms who handle these because of the severe limitations put on these cases by our Legislature. Unfortunately, it is people who don't call us back to inquire *WHY* we cannot take their case -- but instead drop 1-star reviews on Google -- that have prompted other law firms to stop even being willing to look at these cases. Like yours, our only "1-star" reviews are from folks like you who are not actually clients, and to whom we didn't actually provide services. Those to whom we do provide services actually rate us quite well. We acknowledge that you may be upset about our decision to not take on your case, but (1) we did not receive an inquiry from you about *WHY* we could not take your case; and (2) you've made it less likely that one of the few Firms who does handle this type of work will continue to do so in the future.

If you do in fact have questions about why we could not take your case, we encourage you to respond to the email response you received with specific questions as to why, or you may also call us at 704-335-1500 where an attorney will be happy to address your concerns on a non-public forum.
I was quite pleased with the way BROWN MOORE handled my case from the start. They were professional throughout. They clearly worked diligently on my behalf. I highly recommend Brown Moore!
Thank you Retta! It was our pleasure to be of assistance for you and John!
I guess they are in a position that my potential business is not of interest to them. Sent them 2 emails first one dating back to 07232924 and another one on 080624..still no response. At least you could have emailed me back stating you were not interested. 10 days for a reply...yeah
Reeva, we received your submissions you provided via our online questionnaire. Medical malpractice cases such as you submitted about take a little longer to assess. Nevertheless, we emailed you on July 25, 2024 and on August 13, 2024 in response to the submissions you note in your review. Both emails contained written correspondence about why we are unfortunately unable to assist with your particular claim. It is possible those emails ended up in a spam folder, so I would encourage you to check. It does happen from time to time, and those folks tend to call as a courtesy to check on the status of their submission rather than dropping a 1-star review without attempting to follow-up. Our office will reach out to you tomorrow to confirm your email address to re-send our letter, or alternatively get an address to which we can mail it.
Jenny Maynard truly exceeded our expectations in handling our daughter’s personal injury case. Her profound expertise and unwavering patience in addressing our questions made the entire process much more manageable. Jenny’s relentless advocacy ensured that we received a fair and just settlement, for which we are extremely grateful. Her dedication and skill are truly commendable. We wholeheartedly recommend Jenny Maynard and Moore Associates for anyone seeking expert assistance with personal injury matters.
Thank you for the very kind words Talli. It was our pleasure to help your daughter, and we are very fortunate to have Jenny on our team!
We learned a lot over the past year about a serious injury lawsuit. We had no idea about what we didn't know. Without a lawyer, I feel that I would have ended up owing money for a wreck that wasn't my fault. I learned that my insurance company really doesn't care about anything except getting their money back. Brown/Moore and Associates saved me from that and got me compensation for what I went thru. I would definitely use them again. Without a lawyer, you will not win.
Jennifer, thank you for your kind words. It was a great pleasure to work with you and your husband, and help both of you out through what was a difficult process. Best wishes for the future!
I had an amazing lawyer Courtney she was under standing an she cares thanks you Courtney muss lawyers you can't trust but. You can trusted courtney
I had the pleasure of working with Brown Moore. My main contact was Jenny Maynard and throughout the entire process they were helpful, insightful, and even compassionate. I cannot recommend them enough for whatever you need.
Thank you Will! It was our pleasure to work with you, and especially thank you for your kind words about Jenny. We are lucky to have her!
