WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Mr. Burton has been holding my signed and notarized settlement paperwork, between me and a local business, for over a month now, and has not executed on his and his clients promise. NC Ethical Obligations, along with Diligence rules state that attorneys should act with reasonable timeliness when executing settlement paperwork. In my experience with Mr. Burton, he has left countless emails and calls unanswered and has not handled our matter with an ounce of respect or consideration. This has been an ongoing struggle and has caused immense suffering for me and my family. Mr. Burton has promised, in writing, to handle my matter within “a few days,” but somehow has managed to drag this out for yet another month once all parties came to an agreement.
