Callahan & King is hands down the best legal team I have ever worked with! I came to them after another attorney told me there was basically nothing that could be done with my case. Where others saw a dead end, Mr. King and his team saw a path forward and delivered outstanding results. Mr. King, along with April and Juli, were incredibly kind, courteous, and professional throughout the entire process. They were open-minded and truly willing to hear out my perspectives, which made me feel like a valued member of the team rather than just another case number. What stood out most was their tenacity. They pursued a very difficult individual and company, refusing to give up even after multiple efforts. If you want a legal team that is professional, persistent, and actually listens to their clients, this is the office to call. A special thanks to Mr. King, April, and Juli for their unwavering support and excellent representation!
Thanks Terrance! We always love having from our clients, and it was a pleasure working with you, too!
Remove all comments about my active case if not I will a complaint with. State Bae of Texas and purse legal malpractice suit. attorneys can face severe disciplinary action, ethical violations, and sanctions for posting about active cases—including specific litigation like appliance defect lawsuits—on social media. While attorneys are allowed to advertise their services, their freedom to discuss ongoing cases is heavily restricted by rules of professional conduct. Here is a breakdown of why this happens and what constitutes "trouble" in this context: 1. Breach of Confidentiality (ABA Rule 1.6) The Rule: Lawyers must protect all information relating to client representation. The Problem: Posting details about a case, even anonymized, can lead to the identification of a client or reveal confidential strategy. Consequences: Disciplinary action, including suspensions, for disclosing too much information, especially without client consent. 2. Prejudicing an Adjudicative Proceeding (ABA Rule 3.6 - Trial Publicity) The Rule: A lawyer cannot make extrajudicial statements that they know will have a "substantial likelihood of materially prejudicing" a court proceeding.
Hi, Jamaal.

There is no confidential information about your case posted publicly.

Again, we’re sorry you were displeased with our work. You have the right to petition the bar. You have a right to express your frustrations publicly, as you have. We are also entitled to respond as we have and inform future attorneys what they may encounter in representing you.

If you would like our response removed, removing the initial review it was posted under should automatically remove the response.
Everyone here is so kind and helpful. I would trust them with any legal matters. Harley and Lexi are the best!
They really fight for you and find all loop holes possible even if court appointed as I am. My last one didn't fight for me at all !!! You can't go wrong with him or his staff thank you ! I appreciate all of y'alls hard work and being there to defend me !
Awesome service and incredibly helpful! The whole team (and specifically Avery) were amazingly helpful in handling our case for our college student. She kept us informed at every step of the process and the result was exactly what we hoped for. Highly recommend if you need help in Waco!
Worked with paralegal Avery Bulsiewicz here regarding a traffic ticket and received friendly and professional treatment. I also found them highly knowledgeable and would highly recommend them.
Very unprofessional. Very poor communication. Hired them to contest a citation over 4 years ago and it still has not been resolved despite numerous attempts on my end and almost no communication from them. They sent me a copy of a single email that they sent to the court and said that was all they could do. I asked them to refund my money so I could just pay the fine. They didn't do that either and I ended up having to pay the fine anyway. By hiring this law firm I doubled the cost of the citation. I have hired other lawyers in the past but have never experienced this level of incompetence. There are a lot of law firms in Waco but I would not recommend Callahan & King if you want to trust someone to handle any legal affair that you may have.
NO ONE EVER STOPPED PAYING. Your office declared the contract fulfilled and complete and to go any further would require a new contract and retainer. Warning- No concern for you or your well being-just fattening his bank account. Respondents attorney said “it’s pretty common knowledge that when Cody’s name is listed as council- for the other side-99% of the time we get what we want-hands down -. No worry about negotiating”. Paperwork not filed correctly etc. Still trying to resolve paperwork and retrieve what was ‘awarded’ that was never made available. . Doesn’t mind billing you for work he didn’t/doesn’t do.
Loni,

You aren't our client. But since you're reaching out, I'd like to know why you're relying on the word of this guy's wife and law partner?
https://share.google/0OmmWayWki7Lvqioa

If you want to see an instance where Mr. Stapp wiped the floor with that Respondent's attorney in a different case, go read the transcript from the 6/27/23 hearing in cause 2017-3293-4.

Your husband stopped paying. Nothing was screwed up, but we're happy to do more work if you pay the bill. Let us know.
Don’t answer their phone and keep in contact with you. EDIT: To respond to what they said below They say the outcome of the case was in my favor, not really. I paid for a lawyer to reduce a traffic violation which they were unable to do. All they did was take my money, waste my time, and give me a reduced ticket price that didn’t come close the price that they costed for representation. I knew before hand the price was more than average, I trusted them and figured that the high prices were for expertise. They proved that wrong. If you want to overpay and keep the same ticket that you were to get without a lawyer , then hire these guys. I have no reason to lie, not recommended for traffic violations.
Hi, Raymen,

We actually did answer—we just can’t make you read your emails.

Our team communicated with you multiple times, confirmed your email over the phone, negotiated a favorable deal for your case, emailed you on 7/16 giving you detailed instructions about your case resolution & deadlines, and clearly explained the necessary next steps (like paying your fine). We forwarded that email to you again this afternoon to make sure you saw that we did, in fact, do exactly what we informed you we would.

It’s disappointing to get a 1-star review for a case that ended in your favor… especially when the real issue wasn’t our performance, but your unread inbox. But maybe it won’t upset you if you don’t read this either.

-Callahan & King
Had some nuanced questions for a case and received incredible help!!! Very very friendly staff and paralegals who answered questions for me and made things clear and easy to understand. Highly recommend.
From the very beginning, the paralegals were organized, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable. They kept up with all the details of my case, and always made sure I understood what was happening at each stage. Their thoroughness and preparation directly contributed to the smooth progression of the case and I am really happy with the outcome. I always felt like I was in capable hands, and they always treated me with kindness even given the nature of my case. If you're looking for a firm where the entire team from attorneys to support staff works with your best interest in mind, I highly recommend Callahan & King.
Very helpful and understanding guys! They did amazing and our case was dismissed!! Will deff keep them on hand!! :)
The team at Callahan & King are amazing! I was reaching out with some questions about a charge for my daughter and all my questions were answered easily by Faith and Katie. They were all very knowledgeable and answered every question I had. I would highly recommend Callahan & King to anyone!
Thank you so much for letting us know we did a great job, and we'll make sure to celebrate Faith and Katie inside our office as well!
Very Nice people in this office, while we undrstand things take time -you can rest assured Callahan & King are very professional.
I wouldn’t recommend this law firm to handle citations especially if you have CDL the attorney Kate Pennington did the bare minimum and refused to take my case to trial after wanting for $850 fir trial as an result I had to hire another attorney
Review of Mr. Jamaal Gist as a Client: (This review only contains information that is publicly available) Client was charged with Failure to Control Speed. These sorts of tickets are usually the result of a hit and run, for which the accused can be prosecuted for greater offenses. The prosecutor informed us that Client has had 20 traffic tickets. Twenty. It's not clear how he still has a CDL.

Client was rude, chauvinistic, and disrespectful to staff and the attorney working his case. Seems to have a problem with women. The prosecutor's best offer was a $134 fine + $100 court costs. Given the options between avoiding a conviction and having a trial, Client said he was "good for the money" but didn't want to pay our trial fee because "another attorney would charge half the cost". Given his attitude, we informed Client that was good because we would not take his money. Would not recommend. Zero Stars.

We’re proud to advocate for professional drivers — the ones who take their records (and their behavior) seriously. If you're looking for a law firm that will go to war for you at half the normal cost after disrespecting the staff, we respectfully suggest looking elsewhere.

We wish Mr. Gist the best in his ongoing relationship with traffic court.
My name is Rafael Magallanes. I hired this law firm for three citations I received in McLennan County. I have called and reached out multiple times and I have never spoken to my actual attorney. I paid them in full upfront, knowing that my tickets should be dismissed Due to lack of evidence and accusations. I have been requesting the body cam and dash cam footage through this Attorney and have been given nothing but the runaround. By law, they are entitled to getting that footage if requested through discover. Instead, they are trying to charge me $2000 for each citation to go to trial when in reality they don’t even need to do any of that. They should have gotten the body cam and dash cam footage right off the beginning in order for them to see that my case will be thrown out immediately. The paralegal lady, I speak to on the phone that tells me about my court. Dates is very rude disrespectful and acts like a smart ass. This is by far the worst attorney I’ve ever hired and I’ve been pulled over many times in my life since I’ve achieved my license back in 2011. My Civil Rights Attorney has been trying to contact them as well to request the footage during that traffic stop that I hired them for representation. In small towns and counties like this tends to be a ton of corruption, it wouldn’t surprise me if they are preventing me from having that footage when they are supposed to be my defense attorney. I am a general contractor I own a construction company in Dallas Fort Worth, Metroplex. I do not recommend this attorney.
Hi Mr. Magallanes. I wanted to clarify a couple points in your review. First of all, while it did take quite some time for the prosecutor's office to provide us with the body cam and dash cam footage, we called you as soon as we had received them and examined them--two business days after we were given access to those files. In that call, we scheduled a time for you to come into the office to view them yourself. Also in that call, you expressed no discontentment with our services, and you said that our staff answered all the questions you had short of seeing the videos yourself. However, you did not come into the office on the day of your appointment and have offered no explination as to why.

Second, while must charge for our services, we made it clear to you that we would not charged for a trial unless you decided to go to a trial. At no time have we told you that we would charge you for something that we do not plan on doing.

Third, in your review you said that your civil rights attorney had been trying to contact us, but we have no record of any calls or emails from him until the day that you left your review.

Fourth, we train our staff extensively on how to speak appropriately with clients over the phone and in person. However, that does not mean that they are expected to receive a bad attitude from anyone, including our clients. We look forward to a ongoing, amicable attorney-client relationship as we continue to represent you on this matter.
I just want to thank you for helping with my case. I thank Robert and his team. Would recommend them for any attorney needs. Thanks again
Thank you for your feedback, we greatly value what you have to say about your experience, Randy!
I get amazingly fast responses from the team. They explain things to me in layman's terms, which I really appreciate. The paralegal team is prompt and professional! I've worked with Faith multiple times in the recent weeks and each time she had been so helpful!
We're so glad to hear that, Becca! We really value the people we serve our clients with. Was there anyone in particular who you could give a shout-out to, so we can applaud them in our office?
YES ! With confidence YES. If you're scrolling through reviews for confirmation YES. Go With Callahan &Kings Team ! They embody The Word BUSINESS. From the first phone call I made for our accident, not once did I personally have to reach out to see what is going on. When our gma passed away and we missed some appointments because of it. Chris&His Team Sent Us The Sweetest Card. I was never confused never disappointed never left out in the dark. So grateful for Chris and his team they work tirelessly and fought for my family When our world was crumbled. 🕺VOTE FOR CALLAHAN &KING !!! if you don't, you might end up like my husband who filed a claim with saniel dark who's investigation is still going 1yr and 1/2 later who got thrown around to several different law firms and when his 5th lawyer finally called him he couldn't even tell my husband who he was. Forgotten hospital bills, lost medical info, tried to give my husband a "loan" while they gather things." Didn't acknowledge his broken foot. Said they'd get it right. Just a mess ! My husband had deep regrets listening to his friends recommendation of them there is a Very black and white difference compared to the experience myself and our children had with CALLAHAN KING !
I was such a pleasure working with you, Selena, thank you for the kind words and we're hoping your husband's case is able to be handled well from here!
