I encountered an unbelievably unfair/just plain wrong denial by my health insurance company and battled them on my own for more than two years. Completely stuck and shut down at a high level within the organization, out of desperation, I began contacting attorneys. I had tried so hard to resolve the many aspects of a complex problem myself and after speaking with multiple firms, discovered that the statute of limitation had run out on parts of any claim I might have. Because of this, any case I had would be worth considerably less, which in a practical sense, meant it was very hard to find a good attorney willing to consider taking my case. I felt so wronged and she truly understood, which helped me gain closure. I have never experienced anything as emotionally difficult and she helped more than I am able to describe. At the end of the day, an insurance policy is simply a legal contract and sadly, so many of us not only need--but greatly benefit from--having an astute legal person making sure that insurance is doing what they're contractually obligated to do.
