The process of guardianship is a very emotional process that, as parents, we never thought we'd endure. The Team at Clancy & Associates made the emotional process more manageable. The transparency from Kate Schye and her Team regarding the steps, paperwork, costs, timing and overall process from start to finish that allowed us to provide the information and emotional support to our son and his journey through life with us as his guardians. We learned about Clancy & Associates through an informational webminar offered by our school district and once we made contact, everything was emotionally "easier" from there. I rarely write reviews and I know this one may seem too good to be true or over the top or whatever. I honestly don’t care because I found Katie with an internet search and more families facing challenges will be better off if they do as well, so I am really just ‘Paying It Forward.’

Clancy and Associates were professional, thorough, and compassionate throughout our entire planning process. They skillfully prepared our documents with great care and attention to detail which included Health and Financial Powers of Attorney, Last Will & Testament, Living Trust, and Special Needs Trust, and Guardianship (including our court hearing). My experience with Clancy and Associates was highly disappointing due to their poor communication and lack of thoroughness. The initial draft of the guardianship documents they provided did not include me as a legal guardian, which was the entire purpose of seeking their services. Despite my explicit request to be included in all email correspondence, they repeatedly failed to do so, directing all communication to only my son's mother instead. On one occasion, when I reached out with a question via email, they unnecessarily included her in their response. While their communication regarding the invoice was prompt, their willingness to provide actual guidance was lacking. When I reached out with one final question, I was told their service was complete and they could no longer assist me. The inadequate communication and lack of support are particularly concerning given the importance of securing appropriate guardianship for my son, who has autism. Unfortunately, Clancy and Associates left me feeling isolated throughout the process. Considering their $3,500 fee, you may be better off using LegalZoom, where at least the expectations are clear and the costs are significantly lower.

Clancy & Associates is a vital and necessary element in your journey to securing your child's future well-being if they have disabilities! Please plan now to get a trust or other legal documents in place. The political climate is shifting too fast to ignore it any longer. Katie knows her stuff, and has been invested in our community for decades. She will guide you through the red tape and get you sleeping well at night knowing your child is taken care of!
