I am typing this review for my husband due to his injuries he sustained from a malpractice incident that left him legally blind and losing his beloved job as a police officer. These are his words he wanted to leave as a review for Law firm Cogan and Power. Full disclosure they did not ask me to review them at all. I believe people need to know that if they were in the same situation as me and my family these are the attorneys you want on your side. I get a little emotional giving this review because I am so thankful and blessed for connecting and choosing Cogan and Power. My first meeting with Mike Cogan was via zoom with my wife and I. I remember sitting there with this big bandage around my head and thinking of everything I’ve lost and frustrated how I came to this point. One thing that stood out in that meeting is when he told me, “Even if you don’t have a case, we are still going to get you some help and answers”. Which really showed me he cared and wasn’t just about a case. I had attorneys Tom Murphy and James Edwards as my representation from the firm. These two were amazing. They both are very knowledgeable and extremely passionate. This becomes very clear when you see their experience in action, bulldawgs. They made me feel comfortable and I knew they had my best interest always. They explained things very well to me and my family. They were very transparent the entire time. They were so good the defendant on my case left the country, if that tells you anything. Even their legal assistant Nancy O’Donnell was amazing. Nancy was always so helpful and responsive anytime we needed her. She’s also very knowledgeable and extremely organized. Another valuable asset was Greg Marshal. He was always on top of it when it came to my paperwork and making sure things were in order. He always was a great contact to get things done or answer questions. When picking a firm to represent you, make sure they have the assets and contacts to not only help yourself but your case. For example, they had two doctor experts from John Hopkins on my case. Which one is considered one of the best in the world in his speciality field of medicine. TIP: These personal injury cases take time, trust me it’s not your lawyers fault. Defense likes to drag plus court system is backed up from Covid period. Hope this review helps anyone searching for the right firm. This firm will become like family by the end. Pray they help you, like they did myself and family.

Highly respectable team of attorneys. They were recommended by a good friend and John and Sarah handled my case efficiently. I had a medical malpractice complaint against a Dr who left me disabled. It was not a complication of the surgery. He damaged an area that he should not have been any where close to. The expert was weak and really didn’t look at all the facts. They lied to me about going to trial. They did not even get the injury correct. When I read the depositions I thought they were working for the physician. I wish I never had hired them. I haven’t been able to work since the injury and we spent a good portion of our savings on Dr bills. They dropped my case after 5 years and it’s been impossible to find a new lawyer. I’m now trying to get a job and no one wants to hire a nurse who’s disabled and has been out of work for seven years. Not only has this physician ruined my entire life but these lawyers didn’t know enough about nerve injuries to take the case. They also printed up a fake trial date on a court document and gave it to me to make me believe we were going to trial. Who does that?

Miguel Ruiz is an incompetent lawyer. Not only has he been hard to communicate with, doesnt respond to call backs, he has had us waiting for over half a year just to deny my parents case, now the time frame for a lawsuit has shortened as we scurry to find a competent lawyer. His incompetence makes me wonder how he even became a lawyer at this firm or in the first place, and seriously makes me doubt these good reviews are even true. He not only wasted our time but basically had my sister do his job by having her search for reports, and information that a competent lawyer would have no trouble finding. Seriously the worst lawyer experience ever, a waste of time and i know for a fact that im not the only person who thinks this of that lawyer. If i could put zero stars i would, one star is being generous
