Look elsewhere. Took John Porter on through Cole and Martin to file for dissolution. It started with their "lovely" paralegal, Tamarisk, taking control and responsibility of my initial payment and billing. Not a single thing was tracked. A number was pulled out of the air and presented to me around November, 2023. It did not seem right so I sent email after email concerning this and other matters. All left with no replies or communication for a month. Finally heard back from the office that Tamarisk had been let go. When I brought up my concerns and discontent about the amount that was left I was told it could be found under the client portal by Porter himself. Once again, I had to inform them there wasn't a single thing entered on there. Crickets for a few moments and then the worse explanation of a "flat fee" was pitched. Since the case was already underway and I wanted it over with I decided to proceed with them with the reassurance that things would be handled differently and future service fees would be recorded from here on out. They never were. Not a single thing was recorded in the portal. I was, once again, just to take their word on it. Fast forward to the end. I requested a time sensitive consultation for an entirely different case assuming their free consultation claim on their website. I was actually charged for the dissolution consultation but that's yet another side note I'll skip just to get to the main points of why you don't want anything to do with this firm. The deadline had passed and I hired a different attorney for this different case. More than a week after the deadline passed I received an email asking me when I would like to have a conference with Porter. I informed them it was no longer necessary as I had to take a different route. Well, a couple weeks later here they are charging me $250 under my dissolution account for said "time" he spent on reviewing the different case. Keep in mind I received zero feedback, advice, etc. Absolutely nothing for the "service" provided. Needless to say, I civilly voiced my discontent and presented my argument. Their reply? Porter filed a motion to withdraw. The only thing this office knows how to do is charge money they come up with out of the air. Once you start inquiring about the charges, lack of records, and asking why this was charged they bolt. Your interests are of no concern of theirs.
