David Stoddard knows exactly who I Am! He tried to reply saying that this is a problem with family court cases and clients being unhappy…Sorry, but It was him! He called me on Mother’s Day to tell me he was not prepared to represent me and wanted more money a week prior to the trial we waited three years for!!! He left me with no option other than to settle!!! Do not use this lawyer! Worst attorney! Didn’t even try to defend me in court for custody of my children. He always called me late at night right before the hearing. He always forgot imperative details to the case. He literally sat there and didn’t try to argue my case at all! He is only out for the money! A cold hearted man who doesn’t care about his clients or their children!!! DON’T TAKE A CHANCE WITH HIM!!!!!!!!!!

If it were possible to give ZERO stars, I absolutely would. Do NOT waste your time and especially your money on this sorry excuse for an attorney. I personally know that this man does not do the work that he's hired to do, is not professional, does not represent his clients to the best for THEM in court, and doesn't recuse himself when there are conflicts of interest. He doesn't care about the people, he just wants their money. You can rest assured Mr. Stoddard, there WILL be a civil suit for you to answer to. Someone's rights were not taken seriously, and they have paid a very long steep price for something that NEVER happened. Something that you could have and should have EASILY PROVEN, but you were too LAZY to even gather all of the discovery on. You instead depended on that of the prosecution to provide, and you allowed the prosecution to dictate to you what to ask the witnesses on the stand. You allowed an innocent man to be sent to prison and his children to suffer the very things he was fighting to prevent. The damages of complacency and complicity way heavy on your head. I was shocked to see the customer reviews David F Stoddard got before hiring him for my SSDI Claim. But he turned my fears into a great experience. The overall service I got from this firm was up to the mark. David did an outstanding job for me and my family and I can not thank him enough. He was very down to earth and knowledgeable regarding my case. I would recommend him to friends and family.

This assessment follows a comprehensive review. While Mr. David Stoddard presented a pleasant demeanor, his communication responsiveness was deficient. We engaged his services in 2022 for our grandson's adoption, following a positive experience with a prior divorce case. However, his attention to this adoption was inadequate. We repeatedly had to request updates instead of receiving them proactively. Our primary concern was ensuring our participation in the adoption process. Even after over a year, a court date remained undetermined, with Mr. Stoddard citing court backlog. My concern escalated as communication decreased, confirming my apprehension. Despite assurances of diligent representation, I lost confidence in the information provided. In August 2023, I formally expressed my dissatisfaction with the level of service. Subsequently retaining Mrs. Ellen Jones, Esq., we discovered our grandson's adoption had been finalized in May 2023—a deeply concerning revelation, given Mr. Stoddard's failure to inform us of this known development. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend his legal services; I would not want another family to endure a similar experience.

Stroddard for a case I could"nt find an attorney for; But he listened and took our case full force Mr. Stroddard suffered a stroke before our case went to court But even having to use assistance to stand David stood tall and again Goliath fell we won our case hands down ! Anyone that needs a good lawyer please do not come to this guy he sucks takes money never returns phone calls it’s been years and he still hasn’t resolved my case I’m having to look for another lawyer and waste my money again

David was always answered my calls and was very patient with my many many questions. He helped my son in a situation that didn't look too much in my son's favor. He got his felony dropped to a misdemeanor and he asked got time served instead of probation. This was an extremely long 13months. Thank you so much!!! So appreciate you

Report card …. Give Bad advice felt like he was not on our side. In court he just sit there made no attempt to defend his client.

Once the case was settled David helped me out by currently helping me file a contempt on my ex wife and he has stuck by me through the ups and downs so if you want a attorney that will push for justice and preserve your rights look at no other than David Stoddard to be your family lawyer very reasonable attorney fees and will work out a payment plan to suit your needs and do the best for you as any other client no matter what.

This is review I never wanted to do. I hired him in October 2022. He is a very nice man but will not return, emails or texts. When I did speak with him, he would cut me off quickly. As another review states. He also called me at 11pm the night before court, my affidavit was wrong after I sent a very detailed affidavit. He didn't serve one of the parties to the case. I fired him last week. My new attorney knows how to serve the party. The case filed in October of 2022 was dismissed because of the 365 day rule. He didn't know when the case was filed. Please do your due diligence before hiring any attorney. A paralegal would be a great help instead of getting an answering service. Again a review I didn't want to do. I saw my new attorney today. He had to re write the complaint, he is going to have re write the temporary order. Pls do not waste your money. This could have already been over with if I would have hired a good attorney Jacqueline Yu

If zero stars was an option, it would have been chosen. What a waste of money. Getting paid for doing nothing. Doesn't return calls, doesn't even reply to another attorney asking for answers. Doesn't come prepared for court. He's not helpful and doesn't even give you necessary documents. It's hard to believe he still has a practice. NO recommendation at all. Zero.

Went online feeling overwhelmed and not able to get anyone to help me. I had reached out to several agencies and even other law offices - I was able to talk to someone and explain my questions and got a call back the next day. All of my questions were answered and I wasn’t made to feel stupid for not understanding the law. I am very grateful and appreciative for the experience! I would highly recommend and will use again for any future legal matters.

Amazing attorney and consummate professional!

I paid David to represent me in a child custody case and realized pretty quickly that it was a mistake. During the time that I was working with David, I didn't know what was going on in my case. I felt like I was asking a lot of questions to understand what I was going through and what was coming up and didn't receive adequate answers. He would tell me just to be myself and tell the truth. That is great advice, but something I would do anyways. I felt very unprepared walking into everything I did. I ended up using the internet and my therapists (who specialized in therapy for family issues) advice more than anything. After about 10 very silent months, I changed counsel to an amazing attorney in Greenville instead. My new attorney reached out to David many, many times to get the documents they needed from him. He never got back to them with it. He also did not file several documents to the court on my behalf when he should have. I only know this because my new attorney had to do things that should have been done by David 10 or more months prior. I am not usually someone to leave a review, but David Stoddard was not any help to me at all. I wouldn't want anyone else going through something as life-changing as divorce or child custody using David as their attorney. I wish I had known this prior to me hiring him.
