I found myself in the unfortunate position of needing the services of my friend Jacob Denson. I got myself a speeding ticket and knew that it would be extremely costly especially after my insurance rates went up. Jacob was able to handle my ticket with an outcome that I was extremely happy with and he was able to keep it off of my driving record. I hired Mr Denson to defend me in a felony case in Arkansas as a first time offender and non-resident. The highlights: • He failed to adequately explain his state’s criminal process or my options to me. •He often left direct questions about my case unanswered and unacknowledged. •He never discussed any strategic plan for my defense. •He didn’t answer calls or messages the day before a court date, knowing I was a 12 hour away. When asked how to turn myself immediately after missing court, his advice was to avoid “law enforcement” and “save money for bond” •He ignored direct requests to file motions and offer a plea deal. •He didn’t challenge the state’s questionably obtained evidence, he didn’t challenge the state’s failure to retain body or dash cam video, he didn’t challenge the state’s carefully crafted and narrative of the arrest (a work of fiction which could be contradicted by multiple eye witnesses and visibly refuted in a trial setting even without the video of the arrest). *I’ve never heard of a drug case in which no motion for suppression is filed.* •He touted the initial “deal” as a win but it was a guaranteed option under the state’s “first offender” law. •He could not get a response from the prosecutor to discuss a plea deal via text message and he did not attempt any other methods, to my knowledge. •He omitted the prosecutor’s unresponsiveness in his request to be relieved as my counsel, which he filed without any notification, and in his motion he told the court that I was unresponsive. •He refused to provide me any notes on my case or actions he’d taken (such as attempts to contact the prosecutor), when asked he demanded to know why, and upon hearing my rationale he informed me that he had no obligation to provide me with any documentation of his efforts. To his credit, Mr Denson did offer flexibility on his fees. However without any detail I think I paid a lot of money for him to make one court appearance and little else. Additionally, his lack of professionalism and support has left my legal situation, exponentially more confounded than when he was hired.

Mr. Denson was a God send. The most important thing to me when getting a lawyer and I'm sure it's the same with most people is having someone who's going to fight to get you the most favorable outcome. Someone who cares and doesn't see you as just a dollar sign. The moment I said hello Mr. Denson made me feel like family. He calmed me down. Told me what my options were and didn't try to strong arm me into choosing him as my legal counsel. He encouraged me to call other traffic lawyers and do my own due diligence. Once I chose him he didn't switch up. He was with me every step of the way. When things were not so good he was there. When things were great he was there. I had the unfortunate experience of receiving a traffic ticket while traveling from Texas thru Arkansas back in 2008. I actually had forgotten about ticket but was reminded in 2024 as it showed up on my FBI report on myself I needed for obtaining possible citizenship in another country. I also discovered there had been a warrant placed for my arrest due to failure to appear for the violation back in 2008. I contacted Mr. Denson and without hesitation he was able to contact the court and had the charges dismissed. He was great to work with and never hesitated in keeping me up to date and answering my questions. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is in need.
