I had a very disappointing experience with attorney Colleen Malchow. I rarely, if ever, spoke with her directly and was always routed through her assistant instead. When I did ask questions, I felt I didn’t receive clear or helpful advice, which left me confused and frustrated during an already stressful situation. Communication and guidance are extremely important in legal matters, and unfortunately, I did not feel supported or properly advised in my case.

I absolutely cannot say enough bad things about this lawfirm. Hired them at the start of my workers compensation claim and at first they were very attentive. Then i had surgery, and they disappeared. I have months of emails that went unanswered, phone calls that weren’t returned and all of this to be explained as “Sorry my email OUTBOX was full and wouldn’t let me send emails” Yeah okay because that also prevented you from returning my calls too right? Immediately went and sought another attorney who got everything done promptly. Imagine the fact that when I hired a new attorney all of the sudden Colleen was in my inbox all confused why I would have hired someone else. Unfortunately due to this law offices lack or care for their clients, I went a year without the necessary physical therapy (which they should have been fighting for - it’s literally the reason you hire a lawyer?!?) and unfortunately now have been found to have a permanent amount of “disability” in my shoulder. My new lawyer immediately got Physical therapy and treatment reinstated within weeks so it was nothing other than pure laziness that caused me at 23 years old to have a permanent disability in my shoulder that I HAVE TO LIVE WITH for the rest of my life. I wouldn’t recommend this lawfirm to my worst enemy seriously, save yourself the pain and suffering and go elsewhere. Even at the end of my settlement they walked away with less than 1/5 of the total attorney fees and my other lawyer got 4/5th DESPITE Colleen representing me for a year and a half and my other attorney representing me to 4 months. Even the judge could see how lazy they were!!!!

On the job injury while working @ municipal gig. Got hurt, told supervisor, then got ignored. Then got mad and frustrated - Walking into ER and Immediate care and "i got hurt at work" is an immediate "sorry sir, we cant help you-youll have to contact your job for their insurance unless you can pay cash" (Read 2nd line again) got brushed off. Contacted HR and then Dolce Panepinto. Was assigned Holly S. as my attorney. Apparently in NYS (and some other states) you MUST have an attorney to wade thru the absolute bureaucratic nightmare monstrosity that is NYS Workers Compensation. Who knew? i certainly didnt. When dealing with these massive comp lawyer firms one must first realize that you have a lawyer that probably has a 2-300 client caseload - if you plan on calling 2-3 times a week for updates, good luck. I found Holly to be a bright and well spoken person, and WELL versed in the intricacies of NYS Comp legalese. I emailed her often, and every single time she personally replied within a few hours with the answers to my questions. she was generally on the ball and clearly knew her way around the NYS Comp court everytime we appeared in court. After 15 months of endless doctors and insurance co's she was able to settle the case and i was pleasantly surprised how it all worked out. I cannot give any less than 5 stars because she did exactly what she predicted would occur, and settled the case and got me out of that mess that is NYS Comp with a tidy sum for my troubles. At times ( 17 months total ) it seemed it was never going to end, but in the end she wrapped it up and everyone is good.
