I live in florence oregon , The Judge here sometimes addresses me as the court monitor , maybe because in the last 2 years i have sat in on over 400 court procedures . I'm 74 , a few years ago I retired from my association with the D. O. D . now the D .O. War , [ lol ] . Have seen many attorneys from out of the Florence area in this court room . I am known to be a very objective person in my old age . Within the last week i've witnessed Bryan Donahue stand with 2 different defendants on different cases before this court . I want to share with you , that with both cases Bryan actively / Zealously and - effectively - spoke and reasoned with the judge and the city attorney on the defendents behalf . If Bryan is an example of the firms legal team , I personally would not shop any further . On the back of his card in big letters is printed EFFECTIVE . AGGRESSIVE . And thats what i have seen in these 2 cases .

I retained this firm during an extremely high-stakes divorce and property matter, expecting competent representation and protection from further legal exposure. What I experienced instead was inattentive counsel, unchecked overbilling, and advice that ultimately placed me in serious financial and legal jeopardy. Although I was the client, opposing family members were allowed extensive and excessive involvement in my case. I was billed for repeated communications responding to their interference, while my own questions often went unanswered or were ignored altogether. I frequently had to follow up multiple times to receive even basic responses. During important phone conferences with Audra Thramer, it was clear she was distracted. I could hear typing throughout the calls, had to repeat questions multiple times, and regularly felt that she was not listening or retaining critical details of my case. This lack of attention had real consequences. As my case stagnated and foreclosure became an imminent risk, her proposed “solution” was to draft an agreement transferring my home away in the divorce. Alarmingly, the agreement she prepared failed to include any requirement that I be removed from the mortgage. I raised this issue repeatedly before the agreement was filed, emphasizing the risk. Her response was essentially that the other side would decide what worked best for them regarding refinancing. No protection was added to the judgment. Predictably, after the agreement was entered, the other side refused to refinance or remove me from the mortgage. I am now being sued over the exact exposure I warned about — an outcome that could and should have been prevented with competent drafting. Billing practices were another serious issue. There were numerous discrepancies that were never explained despite my repeated attempts to resolve them. Most concerning, I was charged approximately $5,000 for “trial preparation.” Each time the trial was rescheduled months later, I was charged the same amount again, despite no material changes to the case and no reasonable justification for duplicating that work. I ultimately withdrew from representation because I no longer trusted that my interests were being protected. Afterward, I attempted to contact Donahue Law Firm directly to address the billing concerns and seek resolution. They refused to respond. This firm did not simply fail to move my case forward — they left me exposed to ongoing litigation and financial harm while charging premium rates. I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm to scrutinize billing practices closely and ensure that critical protections are explicitly addressed in writing. I wish I had.

I am more than pleased I chose Donahue Law to represent my case. Ethan Meaney was my attorney to help me clear a case that was lingering as I am originally from out of state. The court was aggressive towards me for a misdemeanor case and he was more than helpful in representing me. He was able to fight for me when I wasn’t being heard to the county. If you want an attorney that communicates well with you and keeps you updated, he’s not the right one for you. We wouldn’t get a returned call for weeks at times. His communication added a lot of stress and worry and was frustrating that we felt very much in the dark all the time about what was going on. He also charged an outrageous price, talking to other attorneys they felt he charged us twice what he should’ve. Then we had to threaten to get the remaining money he owed us, that was left from the retirement plan that paid him. After threatening and calling over and over with evidence he finally gave us back the $50,000 that was our money. He blamed a previous secretary for the mistake. He would’ve kept it if we didn’t force him to do so. He should’ve been an ally, friend, and supporter to make this extremely stressful situation easier but instead he added stress and made us really question if he was doing what was best for the case. Be cautious especially regarding communication and cost for his services.
