Doug couldn’t be more cavalier about such a serious job. He gets to decide whether their parents get to see their kids or not. He canceled an appointment so his grown daughter could get a pick up from the airport. If you’re going to charge $8000, your daughter can take an Uber Doug did not even call all my references. I can’t even get a job at McDonald’s without them calling my references

He took $2000.00 from an elderly woman and didn’t finish the case. He ghosted us for 6 months before he even went to court, then never finished the case.

I had a great experience with Mr. Carel. Him and his team were always responsive, quick responses at that. My situation took longer than it should have (not their fault) and he was patient, understanding and willing to help me the whole time. This was my first time even dealing with an attorney. He explained everything well to me, answered all my questions and concerns and didn’t stop fighting till the end for me! We finally got everything done and I told everyone if I ever needed an attorney again he would be my go to! I would recommend him over and over!

Not a professional lawyer, took my money didn't finish my case.

Mr Carel was never prepared for phone appointments. Didn't seem to review the majority of documents and evidence I provided for my case. Rarely, answering questions within my emails. 98% of the time didn't return messages left with staff nor voicemails. Took 3½ months to have Amended Petition that I wrote, he or paralegal copied word for word before submitting to the court. Then he withdrew from my case. His reason... he felt I didn't trust him because I asked several times for an explanation of an amount on the Petition that wasn't making sense to me. Ultimately, I asked another attorney who gave me a 2 minute, understandable explanation. After 5 months the defendants hadn't been served and my case still was not on the docket. Mr Carel charged me $2100 for the mess.
