I am a mediator and trial lawyer whose work comes almost exclusively from regular known sources, primarily other lawyers and insurance companies. I do not advertise or hold myself out as someone handling matters of the type described in this review, but I do occasionally gets a cold call from someone like Mr. Kang who has a small consumer related problem for which hiring me is not economical because they would spend more money on fees than they are fighting over. I usually give them a few minutes of my time and try to direct them to free or reduced-fee sources for legal services, or to someone who handles the type of problem they have. I have on very rare occasions done a “lawyer’s letter” at low cost for someone in a jam to see if it prompts a favorable response for them. While I have no memory of Mr. Kang, I am 100% certain that I have never told someone I would help them and then reversed course and treated them in the way he describes in his review. I am sorry to hear how he was treated. Some calls of this type come from people who are doing broad internet searches and perhaps Mr. Kang has confused me with someone else he talked with during the time he was dealing with the problem he was wrestling with. It definitely was not me.
