When my father was hit by a car while crossing a street on foot, my brother asked a lawyer friend to recommend an Oregon law firm. That person quizzed associates, then recommended Dwyer Williams Cherkoss. We are eternally thankful. Our father was under-insured, and so was the driver of the car that hit him. Our own research regarding how best to settle the resulting medical bills / liens was very confusing, and we entered our relationship with DWC with low expectations for a positive settlement. The settlement process took nearly a year, and it was nerve-racking to see all the big hospital bills pile up during that time. But DWC was good about answering questions and making sure the process stayed on track. Then, when things did finally settle, we were shocked that DWC was able to negotiate a resolution that not only covered all our father's medical costs, but also allowed him to pocket tens of thousands of dollars for his pain and suffering. The attorney representing us in the Portland office was Jeffrey Carter, and his personal attention is something I also have to mention. Jeffrey personally visited and inspected the accident site (way out on the Oregon coast). And he offered to meet with our dad in-person at his rehab center, at his house and more.
