He was referred to me by my former Divorce Attorney Buddy Miles because he could no longer represent me due to the fact he’s closing down shop so I don’t know who’s at fault. DS accused me of not paying my previous lawyer, BM’s, yet every invoice my previous lawyer sent me were paid(I have receipts). This came to light because I contacted BM’s to get my retainer back because I paid every invoice he sent me and was confused why I couldn’t get my retainer back. Was told by BM’s the retainer was used for “services rendered” even though he never told me he was taking money out of the trust(from the retainer of $3250 that I paid). After attempting to contact DS via e-mail for a few days with no response whatsoever, he calls me on his mobile today 6/27/2025 accusing me of owing BM’s money. I am 43yo and my credit score is nearly 800 and I’ve never missed a payment in my entire life and now I’m accused of being a “deadbeat/fraud.” He didn’t come out and say as much but he may as well have. Now, 3 weeks before my divorce trial DS states that he needs the retainer in cash and his retainer was $4000. He called me earlier this morning because the last time I heard from him was Tuesday. He didn’t care about helping me. He just wanted his money which I have no problems paying via credit card which is how I paid my previous lawyer. In 2025, he said he didn’t take credit card for GOD know what reason- fees maybe? The funny thing is that he rents an office from opposing counsel so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were in kahoots. Do not use this guy. He made a mess out of my situation and he blamed me for it. I don’t get why attorneys do this kinda stuff. If you’re a family law attorney aren’t you suppose to advocate for your client? If I was an attorney I would not have put me in this situation. If DS told me, look I normally only take cash but if you’d like to use a credit card you’d have to pay the processing fee. I would’ve been ok with that. I would’ve paid whatever the “fee” was. He just didn’t want to help me and that’s why he said he would only take cash which is really suspect. When a professional tells you they only accept cash there’s 1 of two reasons. 1) they don’t want to help you or 2) they are trying to avoid paying taxes. Otherwise, there is no reason for someone to only accept cash. I think it’s the ladder. It’s ok that it didn’t work out. I retained a new attorney and they seem more on par with opposing counsel. Anyways, be aware of this guy. Don’t use him unless you’re ready to pay cash.

I hired him a year ago upon referral from my divorce lawyer to file to get my ex husband's retirement as awarded in the divorce. I paid him and he still hasn't done it. A whole year for one simple paper to file with the court. He doesn't respond and he doesn't ever reach out to update me on anything. I have a lot of money waiting for me that could help immensely as a single mother that he is just sitting on, along with my retainer.

This man basically ruined my life and made things HORRIFIC for my kids. I’m still rebuilding. Forgetful in court and far more interested in socializing with opposing attorneys than fighting for what is best for families. Run - do not walk - from this man.

He’s not honest lawyer he try win in court with all lie he said in court until he can get results no matter what happens to another person he against them. I’m sorry for him I don’t know how he sleep comfy at night he teach my ex he doesn’t let me see my kids for 1 years because he wants I pay my ex child support sham on you as lawyer
