Edit: One can obviously see how unprofessional this lawyer is by their response. Abusive situations are something a real professional would take seriously instead of distorting facts, blaming and insulting their client because they failed to do their job. Your situation and feelings deserve someone who will show actual concern/care. I hired Dianne on 12\29\25 to represent me in a protection‑order case that was scheduled for 1\7\26. She presented no issue with this timeline. We had an initially friendly conversation on the first day, following this my experience was consistently negative the entire process. After she assured us day one, the lawyer stopped responding almost entirely aside from her liking my messages at times and a few dismissals to get back to me later. This was despite numerous calls and messages to both her and her husband (whom she suggested I contact for uploading evidence because she said she was completely unknowledgeable about this). We were never given a contract to sign. I received zero guidance into how we would proceed. She never provided a plan, timeline, or instructions on how the incredibly detailed evidence that I painstakingly compiled over several days and nights to ensure our success, would be used. After stressing my great concern about how the case would go repeatedly, I finally was able to get her on the phone again the very NIGHT BEFORE the hearing. She admitted she had not reviewed any of the evidence I had submitted but claimed she would that night. She then proceeded to spend the rest of the phone call talking about herself and other clients and even made comments specifically naming other lawyers unrelated to our case, saying they were easy to take advantage of. On the day of the hearing, she arrived roughly thirty minutes late, did not speak to us until we actually got up and approached her, and the other party was already prepared and in discussion way before she arrived. When we were finally addressed, she presented a random stack of my documents TO ME, completely out of order, that bore no relevance to the arguments we needed to make, she offered no objections, questions (besides a couple yes or no questions to me only), or evidence to counter the opponent’s claim of improper jurisdiction, and I had to point out multiple instances of harassment from their counsel myself while she remained silent. Consequently, the judge dismissed the case on jurisdiction grounds. After the unfavorable decision, we spoke to her afterwards and she remarked that the judge was wrong about the jurisdiction, yet she had contributed nothing to the defense, leaving me feeling that I had paid for services that were not even remotely delivered and that the outcome of my case suffered as a result. I would not wish this type of experience on anyone and recommend anyone to look elsewhere for any domestic‑law matters, especially when sensitive issues are involved. If you look to other review sites such as Yelp you will see many people have experienced the same issues with this lawyer as well.

Mrs.Elis is an amazing lawyer and has been helpful, accommodating and an angle through my custody battle and through out my friends and families cases! She dose her job to the best of her abilities and then some! She is truly a force to be reconn with in the court room and helps those who deserve justice and help! I spoke with receptionist and was told Ms Ellis would return my call the next day. They did not return my call, you won’t get business or good reviews if you ignore calling customers back! I gave 1 star because the receptionist spoke very professional and I actually believed her when she said I would get a follow up call. I got a follow up to my review pretty much saying that she doesn’t return calls unless I am a client. The receptionist took my info and said I would get a call, I believe you’re in the wrong here. I did what anyone would have done. Your receptionist should have not said that you were going to call if thats against your policy. I was also informed that if I agreed to pay a consultation fee that she would have called me back. I called because I was referred to Ms. Ellis. I was fully prepared to pay a consultation fee. Had someone asked me or called me back, that would have been handled easily. I don’t understand how you’re not returning my call after your receptionist said you would, is now my fault? Good luck to you ma’am, you might want to school your receptionist on procedure, not make potential customers feel bad for actually calling your office to give you a case to handle!

I am very dissatisfied in the service provided by this attorney. My family hired Dianne Ellis to represent us in an adult adoption. The judge made his ruling on September 09, 2022. We still have not received the correct documents required from her office in order to acquire a new birth certificate and name change. I have called her office and sent emails requesting the documents. I find her to be very unprofessional and am concerned about her apparent lack of interest in completing the job my family paid her $1800.00 to perform.
