I am an attorney who had Emily as my family law/divorce and child custody attorney. I asked other attorneys for a recommendation as I wanted the best and Emily was hands down recommended. She made sure my court filing was filed to appear before a particular judge. Knowing which judge will best serve your client is an important skill and she has an abundance of skills; she is an expert. During Covid the government distributed many checks to families. Emily had made sure I had the children as dependents for tax purposes so 2 years after my divorce Emily’s incredible work on my behalf was still reaping monetary rewards for my children and myself. Not only did she do all of the above, during my divorce which was an incredibly difficult period in my life she was a rock solid supporter and continued to do so after my divorce was finalized. Hands down 5 stars in all areas for Emily Sutton Dezio and 100% remember to cast your vote for her for judge. Mrs. DEZIO helped me tremendously when in dire need. My sons mother died of brain cancer while I was in treatment.. Her parents sued for custody and got it because I never heard about a court date. Emily and her staff found out I had not been served and basically undid what had been done. Her “human” instinct kicked in and we came to a settlement based on what was for the child. Seven years ago my Husband and I wanted to expand our family through adoption. We met this six year old boy and instantly fell in love with him. When the adoption was done it was revealed we were the first male gay couple to adopt in Henderson Co. NC. After working with Emily during an extensive complex custody case, I can’t say enough wonderful things about my experience with Emily and Julie her paralegal.
