In 2007 I pleaded no contest to two counts Penal Code 487 (a) and one count Penal Code 459. I served 2 years concurrently in state prison. After I got out of prison I completely turned my life around. I went back to school and got Job training and performed volunteer work. However, despite all of my positive contributions my past convictions continued to haunt me. Even though I served my time, paid my debt and changed my life for the better; I continued to have legal issues with immigration. And trouble getting good jobs. With regard to immigration, the consequences of my two year conversation was extremely serious. Immigration charged me with an aggravated felony which carries a mandatory penalty of PERMANENT bar from living in the U.S. I have been a permanent resident since I was 3y. this is my home! I desperately needed a post conviction relief, to solve my immigration problem. Before hiring Mr Escovar, I had attempted to get my charges reduced 3 prior times with 3 different attorneys without a shred of success. It was a total waste of time and money. I was running out of time! I never gave up hope and I prayed for a miracle. My prayers were answered when I found Attorney Steve Escovar on yelp. Mr. Escovar and his team did something that no other attorney EVER did before. He really listened to me and RESEARCHED my case. He knows the laws and was able to use new laws to my advantage. Paid this guy 1500 for basically a day of his time and he acted like I was inconveniencing him. He was always fidgeting and muttering and it was hard to understand him at times. He won my wife's case but it honestly wasn't that difficult of a case. The entire time he acted as though he was doing the case for free.
