I've been to that legal aid place twice both times I was there I was told by somebody behind the desk that they cannot help me get my daughter back they did not even look at the custody papers I have or the child's birth certificate they told me that since another party came to the legally before me that they can't help I do not understand that like why should that matter if another party came before me now I am the one that has full custody of my daughter damn why a person can't look at some papers what is so hard about that Legal aid does not help at all they pick and choose who they're going to help the places that I went to of legal aid are called Family Legal Servi And legal aid of West Texas I would recommend that anybody that is trying to get their child back not to go to Legal Aid because if you're not dressed a certain way or if another party went there before you they're not going to help you they don't care about the child make you out to be the bad person when really they all they need to do is look at the papers which is not that hard

I went there to get some help on paper that I wanted to get looked over. There old paper I got from my divorce and child support and want to ask questions. The lady told me to write my info down and everything. She left to the room next over. She told the lady in the office I was there to get some help and she ask what did I need help with and and the secretary took idk she complaining about her ex-husband with child support. And I'm just sitting there I can hear everything. She closes the door and said she'll be with me in a few. I told the secretary I had to go I dropped of the papers and never went back. If someone going to talk bad about someone do it in private, it rude and disrespectful. I got my feeling hurt. So I have never went back it's been 2 years

Avoid Legal Aid – Especially If You’re a Single Mom! I had a terrible experience with Legal Aid and attorney McDonald. From the very start, she never even got my name correct on official documents, which showed a complete lack of attention to detail. Communication was a nightmare—I could never speak to her directly. Every time I called, I had to go through the receptionist, who would relay messages to her, and then she would email me instead of just taking my calls. During mediation, she told me not to bring up the domestic violence in my marriage because, according to her, “the judge doesn’t care.” That was beyond disappointing and completely unacceptable. Instead of fighting for me and my daughter, she pushed me into making a decision just to get things over with because she was too lazy to do her job. I felt completely unsupported during one of the most important moments of my life. If you are a single mom going through a divorce, DO NOT choose Legal Aid. You deserve an attorney who actually cares and will fight for you, and unfortunately, that was not my experience at all.

Family Legal Services (formerly the Legal Aid Society of Lubbock) does not have an attorney by that name. You may have us confused with a different organization.

I was living at wps and tried to get a protective order. The whole reason for being at wps was privacy. The lawyer, I believe her last name was Kidd couldn't even remember the details I had spoken to her about the case. To add icing to the cake tne person I was there found out where I was because of my(lawyer)🙄🙄

Even though the kids (who are old enough to know better and need to be taught some decency) were disrespectful i stand with what y’all do through y’all’s nonprofit organization

The float that your company had at the Cinco de Mayo parade had EXTREMELY disrespectful children, that repeatedly flipped us off and took pictures of us without our consent which was absolutely hurtful and i do expect a verbal apology.

your kids were pointing and laughing and taking pictures of us. i felt very uncomfortable we had our teacher talk to them but they wouldn’t stop.

I think they are good for the community and I would look them up for any kind of civil matter.

I wish the state knew that they are funding a bunch of women that sit a desk and care more about what their make up looks like than actually assisting people. A box of crayons has more sense than the front desk intake girls there. Terrible turn over rate.

The turn over rate is really high which males the process really slow. Other than that they do really well. All employees give 100% despite their changing staff often.
