Long story short Shawn was great from the very first conversation price was established and then the wait for everything to happen. My dui charge was dropped to public intoxication!! Shawn did a great job after seeing the body cam to get the charge reduced.

Let me start by saying I do not believe in writing reviews if I am paying for a service I expect the best they have to offer, well I finally met an exception to that rule and his name is Shawn Fitzgerald. As any parent we send our children off to college hoping for the best and 4 years of bliss. Well then reality hit, my daughter got into what should have been a run of the mill mistake with a couple of fines and a good scolding turned into a major incident. By the time we got involved the police where looking for her on campus. I spoke to shawn on a Friday morning he said give him a couple of days to get more information and plan on being in Iowa on Monday to work things out. We arrived on Monday ( over 3.5 hours away) in a attempt to resolve the problem. At this point the police attempted to arrest her on other charges, but Shawn was ahead of them already speaking to a Judge to have her come over to the courthouse to go before him. The state’s attorney attempted to charge her with 2 substantial charges relating to the original fines. Shawn was able to reach a settlement that was in my daughters best interest and not affecting her future career path. Shawn was amazing during the whole process saving me and my daughter multiple court appearances, he was available for questions regarding the case and kept us updated every step of the way. I felt Shawn had my daughters best interest in mind while attempting to resolve the matter. I highly recommend Shawn for any legal matters if you need a lawyer.

I’d give negative stars if I could. Had a YMCA staff member get butt hurt then called the sheriff and lied. Sheriff shows up no questions asked and arrested me. Contacted Fitzgerald paid him thousands only to hear from him the NIGHT before. Not the day before but the night before. Told me I was guilty and needed to take a plea. (Still didn’t ask me what happened). I FIRED HIM DUE TO LACK OF SERVICES AND A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE TO THE LAW. A BOARD CERTIFIED LAWYER, told me I was guilty of assault because I talk with my hands, and guilty of trespassing because I WAS NEVER TRESPASSED to begin with. For the ones that don’t understand simple trespassing laws. You must be trespassed before you can be arrested and charged with trespassing. Which I was never. Then proceeded to tell me I don’t know the law and asked me where I got my degree. Needless to say I represented myself, got the bogus charges dropped for assault and trespassing BECAUSE I WAS INNOCENT. And saved thousands of dollars. PLEASE stay far away from the criminal attorney. I can only speak on Fitzgerald and his actions. (Or lack of). I cannot speak for the rest of the firm. This was a simple money grab done with ignorance.
