I hired Michael nearly five years ago for my timeshare case against my ex. For five years I provided evidence of my ex’s actions and behaviors, lack of involvement, and contempt, yet Michael failed to present the majority of it and never once filed a contempt motion against my ex who was and still currently is in contempt when the judge entered her final judgement yesterday. Instead he kept telling me had to wait for x, y, z. Why? If somebody is in contempt and not doing what they are court ordered for two years, you file a contempt motion. It doesn’t take being an attorney to know how that works. Michael never communicates with you about what’s going on whatsoever, as that would require him to return calls or emails which he never did. I kept detailed logs and every text communication (or non communication) between my ex and I for nearly five years, and he didn't even enter half of it as evidence. He would repeatedly tell me that my ex was burying himself with his actions and that everything would come to light and washout in trial. It did not because he did such an awful job of representation. Michael Phillips does NOT care about you. He only wants to charge you the maximum amount for every little thing while he continuously ignores you. When we were in trial for attorney fees, even opposing counsel brought up the amount of administrative charges I was always billed and talking up the majority of the billed hours without any real work ever being done by Michael. I am now having to hire another attorney to file an appeal due to Michael’s poor representation and have even begun to contact legal malpractice attorneys about the extent of Micheal’s complete and total negligence; and will be contacting the Florida at as well. Do not hire Michael Phillips! It will be the most costly mistake you ever made. Emotionally, mentally, and financially.

I was divorced in 2013 in Florida and was represented by Michael Phillips. The details of my experience are horrific. Michael missed many key points and at times I wondered if he any time at all preparing for my case. I spent over $30,000 in attorney fees and ended up paying my ex-spouse $6900 at first with only 2 of 4 of my children in the house even though we lived on $6000 a month with6 people in the house. I had to pay 3 years of bridge the gap even though the law states it should be a maximum of 2 years. The opposing attorney incorrectly stated my salary and Michael did not catch that. This list goes on and on. Do not hire Michael. You are way better off representing yourself. I am a real person that had my life destroyed as a result of this divorce.

Michael helped me with a modification in child support which also involved other aspects, as family law often does. He was everything I needed in a lawyer. He was compassionately kind with me during the rough moments, knew how to encourage me to persevere through the process, and had a comforting strength that allowed me to put my faith entirely in him. At the initial consultation he told me exactly how we were going to win the case and he did exactly that. He got me everything I wanted and more. He has a wonderful legal assistant, Katy, who was so helpful with everything and literally has the patience of a saint. I recommend Michael highly to any man or women in need of a family law attorney. He is simply the best, bar none.
