I was recently on the receiving end of a divorce action and engaged Fort Collins Family Law to represent me. I engaged FCFL because when I "interviewed" the principal, Sarah Lamborne, in my process of looking for legal help, I found her to be a very good communicator, easy to interact with, willing to patiently address any questions I had about this completely unfamiliar process, and seemingly very knowledgeable and experienced from my layman's perspective. (I will note that there was a nominal fee for this initial interview, which I thought was very reasonable to do.) As things progressed and I engaged and worked with Sarah on the divorce process, which included some potentially complex issues, I remained very happy with our interaction and always felt comfortable that my legal representation was in very capable hands and that Sarah was working conscientiously on my behalf. Communications to and from FCFL about the divorce action and related matters as handled by Elaine were always done promptly and professionally. In the end the divorce filing was canceled and my wife and I reconciled before things got very far down the road. However if I ever were to need similar services in the future I would no doubt re-engage FCFL based on my experience with them. I whole-heartedly recommend that others in similar situations look into engaging Fort Collins Family Law for legal assistance.

If you are looking for a lawyer to represent you in a divorce, someone who is knowledgeable yet compassionate, responsive to your emails and calls, available to meet in the office or on Zoom, diligent, professional and business-like, gets the work done efficiently, thoroughly, accurately, and on budget, look no further than Sarah Lamborne and Fort Collins Family Law. Sarah's hourly rates are competitive, a little lower than the bigger firms that need to support a large staff. Though my case was probably simpler than most, she always treated me with careful attention, dignity and respect. Sarah truly listened to my inputs, translated them into the precise legalese needed by the county, gave me voice in a process that mostly ignores the separating parties, and, provided clear and useful direction and guidance. She returned the unused portion of the retainer promptly. Thank you Sarah, and thank you Elaine (Sarah's paralegal).

From my first meeting with Sarah I knew she was the right attorney to handle my divorce. She guided me thru the process, was compassionate, and professional. Both Sarah and Elaine, her paralegal, were extremely responsive. They made this difficult life situation as comfortable as possible.

Sarah Lamborne is excellent at what she does. Throughout my time working with Sarah, I found myself in the hands of a lawyer who not only knows her field but is also intelligent, compassionate, thoughtful, honest, and highly professional. She helped me understand what would and would not help me in my case, listened to my questions and perspective, and represented me better than I could have hoped. When I compared Ms. Lamborne's work to the opposing counsel, Ms. Lamborne consistently showed up fully prepared, with great attention to detail, showing respect towards me, opposing counsel, and the judge. I felt prepared every step of the way. The good outcome of my case was certainly in large part due to the excellent representation I had with Ms. Lamborne. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

She offered several approaches and developed a plan of action that resulted in a very positive mutual outcome. Ms. Dandeneu was also very responsive and organized, ensuring seamless communication. Invoices and expenses were clear and agreeable, with no unexpected charges or surprises. Their legal advice was knowledgeable, and they clearly defined the positive and negative implications of our strategy. I cannot recommend Sarah enough! No one wants to have to deal with family court issues, but if you do, this is absolutely the law firm to use! Throughout the entire process, Sarah was knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, organized, and realistic. My emails/calls were always answered quickly, and Sarah was always clear and honest as far as what to expect, giving her advice while also listening to my concerns. My only regret is I didn't use her when I first got divorced, haha...this was for a bunch of post-decree stuff, that unfortunately went allllll the way to a hearing. In the courtroom, Sarah was clearly much more prepared than the other counsel, organized, and had made sure I was very clear on what to expect/do, and you can tell she is smart, quick, (and also tough as she cross-examines!) I ended up getting not just everything I wanted, but extra things I didn't expect as well. However, even the outcome was less than that, I would still be recommending her, because of how helpful and amazing she and her staff were for the entire years-long process leading up to this. She was also fair in her billing, (and didn't let the other party or my witness run extra time on the billing clock.) I hope you never need a family attorney, but if you do, this is the one to use.

Sarah was a fantastic family law attorney. My favorite thing about working with her was how responsive she was to emails and answering questions. I work in the legal industry, so I understand a challenge for attorneys can be to respond to their clients in a timely manner - Sarah did not struggle with that whatsoever. She emailed me same day or next day, and if she was out of the office for any reason, her auto-reply was on so her clients could know and understand why she wasn't responding to them as quickly as usual. Communicating with clients in a timely manner is paramount, especially in family law where emotions and stress are running high! Sarah was very dedicated to my challenging case and worked tirelessly throughout to ensure I won at the final hearing!! Family law can be filled with "obvious wins" where it's obvious who is right and who is wrong - but many of us understand that "obvious" isn't sufficient enough to win at trial - you need an actual legal basis to win on each and every argument, and Sarah did a marvelous job at researching a legal basis for every argument. Her demeanor in the courtroom is exceptional as well. Her paralegal, Elaine, also did a marvelous job sending me pleadings and orders filed very quickly. I never had to wonder if anything was happening in my case because Elaine was on top of communicating with me ASAP about anything being filed. I hope I never need to work with Sarah and Elaine again (because doing so means going through a very difficult time indeed) but if that difficulty ever comes up again, I will be reaching out to them for assistance!!
