after paying over 20k he wont return my phone calls or emails. I have lost time with my kids due to his failure to communicate. Do not use this attorney.

Be careful when he is supposed to collect money for you end results haven’t seen a dime. Then after two times hired him for other things all of a sudden he doesn’t know who I am.

Fred McAtee is the most inept, unqualified family law attorney I have ever encountered. I am a Paralegal and my daughter hired Fred and I have observed his , He is unresponsive to your emails, text, phone calls and messages you leave for him. You are fortunate “if” he returns your phone calls the day before your hearing. At the hear- ing, he and the opposing attorney meet in the Judges chambers and agree to continue the matter…time and time again. The motion for spousal support was filed in Pro Per and there have been 6 hearings with another pending in January, 2022. Keep in mind, his rate is $450.00 an hour. My daughter has given Fred evidence of her spouse’s gross monthly income several times…but he never presents it to the Judge because he wants a continuance. Therefore, the Judge ordered 1/3rd of the amount she should be receiving based on California support guidelines. At the second hearing, her spouse submitted a letter written by his brother stating his income was 1/2 of what it actually was. He and his brothers own the family business and the brother who wrote the letter is the CFO. Fred never challenged this ficti- tious letter so support was set far lower than it should have been. Again, my daughter provided Fred with solid evidence of what his income was to no avail. My daughter will be filing a complaint with the California State Bar. A negative 5 stars still would not be accurate enough to rate this sorry company. His law practice is legalized stealing. 👎

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not hire Mr Mcatee he will bleed you dry with fees but do nothing for you. He just continued my case for years with no results. The divorce stipulation he negotiated was worse than my ex offered. He couldn’t even put the stipulated agreement together my ex attorney had to do it and he wasn’t even his attorney when the agreement was made. If you want to be continued over and over with little resolution then this lawyer is for you. If you want better I suggest you hire an attorney who will fight for you. This one just rolls over!

I have used several attorneys in Bakersfield with little to poor results. Mr Mc Atee is the only one who listened to me and then got the judge to understand our situation. If you want results, I recomend Mr Mc Atee. Thanks Fred
