My husband is going to trial and has serious charges and Gail is no help she has only been to the jail to see him 1 time and even stated I should leave him alone due to his charges and she even had swisher packets in her office as if she smokes …I recently called her to just tell me what he scores out to and she got very rude and nasty on the phone with and I am reporting her to the Florida bar because she took my money and only went to 2 court dates

She was assigned to my son and she is horrible her communication skills is -0 she does not communicate she wanted my son to just sit told him she want his case to get old she’s very slow about getting things done. She was not for him that’s why it’s better with a paid lawyer that I did

Currently “my attorney”, was assigned to me by the court. Non-criminal, child custody case. Has ignored my calls for months. Refuses to return calls. Doesn’t file motions I’ve asked for over 15 times. Doesn’t file anything. Threatened to file a motion to withdraw as council when I questioned her. Refuses to uphold law. WILL NOT REPRESENT YOU WITHIN THE LAW. SHE HAS ABANDONED MY CASE FOR MONTHS.

She is quick to file paperwork to try and make you take a deal you don’t want, refuses to file motions to help you. Asks you to send her all of your docs to tell you “she doesn’t open emails from people she doesn’t know”! When I called her out: “So because you neglected to do your job, I’m being penalized?!”, I get fired? Someone needs to start holding her accountable!

Beware beware!!This is the worst attorney in Polk county. If you're given this attorney do not allow her to touch your case. You will lose your child. She will not fight for you. Read all the reviews and you'll see they are 100% accurate do not use this attorney.

Best attorney in town no doubt

Mrs.cheatwood is definitely the best at what she do she was my court appointed attorney but didn't treat me no less than a paying client. I was facing 10yrs and mrs.cheatwood put up a great fight for my case. She gave me the most heartfelt speech and i felt how positive her spirit was and couldn't help but to cry. My charges was drop thanks to mrs.cheatwood i will highly recommend her to anyone and the last but most important thing is her communication and contact back gets a 5 star i have never called called her office and didn't hear back from her. If you are having any issues with the law mrs.cheatwood is definitely the the person for the job

I've been waiting more then 2 years to go to trial and she had evidence to shut my case down since day one, she has also lost video evidence somehow and she agrees with the state and hasn't been fighting for me...I recommend u find another lawyer cause I'm still waiting for trial...

Never seen or heard of a worse attorney in Polk County, FL. Does not do her job, terrible attorney-client commutation, does not answer the phone, etc.

I'm not one to give my opinion or leave anything in reviews, but in this case I'm a little upset since I hired this lawyer, I paid her the full amount, and I've been with her for 3 months now, and every time I call, she doesn't answer. When she does, she always makes excuses, like the cases are backlogged, because of Covid, and I've never received a call from her, on the contrary, I'm the one who always calls! Even when I complain because she hasn't done anything, because she always tells me the same thing, she hung up on me. I think that's unprofessional. If she doesn't like this job or doesn't like working, why does she keep taking cases if she supposedly has cases backlogged since 2019! Honestly, do not obtain her services since she does not like to do her job. I do not want you to go through the same thing as us, who have been victims of this unprofessional person. And if you see, I am not the only one who has experienced this. I should have read the reviews before obtaining this lawyer's services. ☹️👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

This attorney is a poor excuse of attorney, she is very unprofessional and does not communicate with her clients. She is not one that will fight for your freedom and definitely not a dependable attorney that you can count on. She will cross you and stab you in your back at the same time. She is a liar and all she wants is money for no work. She does not take care of business. She basically works for the state. She should have remained a public defender. She is the worst ever and needs to be reported to the bar for her inadequate behavior as a attorney. Please do not trust her...she is the worst of the worst!!!!
