I have had a great experience with Phil Gibbons. Phil invested enough time and put in efforts to understand my case in detail, provided the right guidance and instilled confidence in pursuing a wage theft case. While most law firms are associated with being stressful, with Phil you will be stress free. Not at all a shark. I highly recommend Phil for any employment related matters.

I know I have a legitimate case. I have an attorney in the family who has stated so. Trust me I would use them if that was their area of expertise. I feel like they this law firm thinks it's would be too hard to prove. Or they really just don't want to take it, like some other firms out here. Honestly, I can't pay the 2,500 upfront fee because I don't have it. On their little intake form, they ask you if you can pay the funds upfront with no option to pay out of your compensatory damages either, which I'd have gladly done. I guess I probably dodged a bullet anyways if they couldn't tell my why they didn't take my case. They probably wouldn't have tried it to the fullest anyways. ***Update So, I want to make it clear that anyone can see I am not a client by reading my review. The fact that you started your response off with saying I wasn't a client was not the best approach. Including my personal information in your response was unnecessary and unprofessional. You informed me that you wouldn't handle my case without any explanation once you learned about it. I mentioned that I would have difficulty paying, but I hoped to speak with Megan (the first person I spoke to originally) to discuss the possibility of paying in smaller installments or deducting it from the compensatory damages. However, when I called to inquire, I was assisted by someone else who supposedly forwarded my message to her, but I never received a response. Instead, I received a very vague email stating that you would not take my case. After explaining my situation, your response is now invalid. I posted my review not because you were unwilling to take my case, but because you requested $2500 upfront without offering the option to deduct it from the compensatory damages. I also did not receive a callback despite requesting one. That is why you received the review you did. To ensure fully informed decisions can be made, it would be helpful to include information about payment options and whether certain types of cases are not accepted, such as those involving race and disability. Being clear and transparent in your communication is a matter of common courtesy. You certainly were forthright about the $2500 request and what your areas of expertise are, and that is why I am disappointed. However, there are many other law firms that are willing and able to assist. Finally, you may wonder why I didn't approach them instead. I didn't consider them because I saw you had a higher rating. I thought you would know what to do and how to handle my case. I admit that I was mistaken, and once again, judging from your response, I truly did dodge a bullet and successfully avoided a potential problem.

Response from owner

This is a one-star review from someone who is not a client of Gibbons Law Group. It appears we received this review because Gibbons Law Group informed the reviewer that we could not accept his or her case. I do not know the reviewer's identity because the “Mo H” screen name does not match anyone in our intake records. If the reviewer wishes to contact me again, I will be happy to explain why we declined the case. The following comments are not directed to this reviewer's legal claim. Gibbons Law Group is a 2-attorney law firm representing employees with legal disputes with their employers. We receive over 100 inquiries weekly and spend hours reviewing each potential claim for free. A live person answers every call, and a questionnaire is promptly sent to each caller that allows us to evaluate whether our law firm can provide legal assistance. With employment law, the unfortunate reality is that most claims involve unfair treatment but not illegal treatment. Approximately 90% of our inquiries fall into the “unfair” category, which usually means no legal remedy exists. There are also numerous types of employment disputes we do not handle, including unemployment benefits and worker’s compensation. Even when we cannot accept a case, we provide attorney referral information, Internet links to government agencies that handle employment law issues, and a free book describing common mistakes employees make when suing their employers. If you need employment law services, I request you read reviews from our actual clients who can accurately and truthfully provide feedback regarding our legal knowledge, client service, and results.

I would definitely consider using this Law Firm. In working with Gibbons Law, they were immediately responsive. Although they were unable to take my case, they were able to consult with me and give me quality and useful information for the future.

Had an appointment scheduled with Phil. Before my appointment, he was able to spend a considerable amount of time reading my Claims Brief to give me his assessment. I'm astonished at how nice and caring he was with my request. Will definitely be keeping his information saved. Thanks Phil for your attention!

I set up an appointment and Phil spent quite a bit of time with me examining all aspects of the case that I had presented. He is very knowledgeable about employment law and gave some fantastic advice. Phil answered all of my questions thoroughly and took the time to ensure that I understood what he was saying. In my experience it is rare to find such a helpful and courteous attorney who gives detailed advice at no cost. I highly recommend Gibbons Law Group.

Phil, Cory, Ethan, are all outstanding lawyers. As a lifelong food service employee/manager it's good to know there's lawyers out there who fight for the little guy. After reading through some of the reviews I see some people complaining about them not accepting new clients. When you're The best everyone wants to work with you.

I concur with the individual who stated they didn't need to retain Atty Gibbons to see he has so much respect and compassion for people who have been taken advantage of by their Employer. Im looking forward to working with his firm

Gibbons Law Group has been nothing short of amazing! My case has been complicated to say the least, and Gibbons has stood by me through it all. Gibbons has gone beyond expectations with professionalism and courtesy! I have been provided updates as then occur. I have been advised on what to expect, and they haven't been wrong for me yet! They have celebrated every win with me as an advocate for me! Gibbons has been a great resource when I needed to "think things through", and advises from knowledge and experience. My first "smart" action that I took (after deciding to litigate) was that I found and began working with Gibbons!

While I didn't end up needing to retain services, Phil was very responsive and helpful. Most lawyers I called wouldn't do anything without a retainer. Phil was empathetic and took the time to help me determine if it would be worth it for me to hire a lawyer. Office communication is also very professional and prompt.
