Colorado Springs, CO
We are not a general practice law firm. For more than 30 years, our practice has been limited to providing individuals, families and entrepreneurs with innovative and highly customized solutions and plans for their estate, retirement, business, tax, real estate and asset protection needs. If you are looking for generic documents or “one-size-fits-all” planning for the lowest price, that requires your minimum commitment and involvement, we are not your answer. Because we don't take every case that comes in the door, we can afford to be more responsive to your individual needs, circumstances and questions. We will work closely with you, your family and your trusted advisors to provide you with the wisdom, expertise, clarity and compassion
Nothing but problems. Robin at Exit Strategies and Doug, her husband seem to not be transparent. They do not handle what they say they will handle when they say they will handle it. They do not write trust documents carefully making numerous scrivener errors as they say they will (eventually) correct. They do not understand international laws on trusts. They do not provide clear options for disclaiming trusts and they do not have automated systems in place, still running their business using old PDFs that are not easy to complete and are scanned in poor quality so difficult to read and impossible to OCR. If you want info, you have to ask for it because they are not forthcoming. Avoid them. My father’s first trust seemed to be okay, but this rewrite they did was filled with errors and I was not kept informed. Now, Doug behaves like he has no responsibility because I am not his client and my father is dead. They say they are handling things but I’m not seeing the transparency I expect and they have been missing deadlines they set for themselves so I feel it is best to avoid this kind of organization unless you have a good reason to use them. I have no choice but new clients can use this example as something to help them make a quality decision. If you live and work in another country, as I do, and do not have the ability to walk into their offices, you can expect radio silence from them and problems like not understanding they have to report not just to IRS but also to France. To improve, Doug and Robin need to put together better documents and a more transparent system that allows beneficiaries of a trust to see all the process occurring in real time including documents filed and deadlines. Today, they are not qualified to administer a trust in my opinion and their inability to communicate clearly in email shows me they need a better system. Perhaps Colorado in general needs a better system in order to respect all the laws that trusts are subjected to locally and internationally. Otherwise, perhaps the USA needs to do a better job with their rule of law with regard to protections from foreign interference so as to make things simple for small business owners like Doug and Robin.
As always, Goldberg has always given us sound advice. So grateful for a man who can give Fatherly wisdom and advice. Such a gift to the world.
Waited over 3 weeks to get a retainer contract emailed to me and it still didn't arrive despite multiple emails and voicemails to Mr. Goldberg. I am quite sure that Mr. Goldberg is a very knowledgeable attorney but question his work ethic. He worked with my step father to create two different trusts. The work was, for sure, very thorough. But perhaps too complicated? I have had reason to have 3 different estate attorneys need to review the estate documents for different reasons. They all commented on how complicated (I read convoluted between the lines) that they are. Perhaps that is the reason even he wouldn't even let himself be retained to close it out once the trust creators died???
Trash... all I can say they never called back after multiple talks with there secretary. Suggest you take you business elsewhere.
Excellent service, sage counsel, professional advice with no pressure. They hold the first postion on my referral list of Estate Planning firms in Colorado.
