They possess an excellent working relationship with the Chesterfield County Courts, and I would wholeheartedly recommend the firm for representation in that jurisdiction. I worked most recently with Attorney David Clements, who achieved a substantial reduction in a serious charge, resulting in a misdemeanor and only ten days served, versus a potential six months. Disappointed After a Previously Positive Experience I worked with Russ Watson about two years ago and was very happy with the help I received at that time. He handled my case well, and I was grateful for his support. Based on that experience, I reached out to him recently for help with a new matter. When we spoke, he said he was willing to assist and asked me to email him all the necessary information. I sent everything he requested promptly, but I’ve now been waiting over a month without any response. I sent 2 more emails to Russ checking in but no response. I followed up with a phone call to his office, and they told me he would get back to me but I never heard from him again. I’m really disappointed by this lack of communication and follow through. I understand things can get busy, but being completely ignored after being told he’d help is frustrating and unprofessional. I expected better, especially given our positive history.

You won't find a better law firm than this one. My family has used them many times over the years. The practice has a family atmosphere and everyone there is so eager to help you. They just did our Estate Planning and made it seem so easy and we had put it off and dreaded doing it for a long time. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. After a smooth, quick closing on our new home last year, we contacted this firm for assistance with estate planning. I was referred to Russ Watson who answered my call, informed me of what info he would need to get the process started and let me know his fee. I promptly emailed the required info and that was the last I heard from Russ. I waited a couple of weeks and then left him a voicemail. After a couple more days, I contacted the office and asked that they leave him a message to call me to make sure he received my email and to see where he was at with my request. Still no response from Russ. After another week, I contacted the office and asked if there was someone other than Russ who could assist. She said the person (I’m not sure who) would call me back as they were on another call. It’s been another week and still no call back from this firm. I would definitely NOT recommend Gordon, Dodson, Gordon & Rowlett if you are looking for any kind of estate planning. It was many weeks of wasted time with no results. Extremely disappointed.

From the initial call back from the concerned message I had left to multiple meetings and phone calls this guy has shown me that he is smart, determined, confident and that he cares about his clients. He is so genuine! He has that, I can talk to you man to man and he has that I am a lawyer and I am going to represent you! David Clements sucks, retained him back in 2022, had me send the money, Info and court date. Said we’d touch base before the court date to then which I never heard anything. After calling his office I found out he was on vacation. Never heard anything and he showed up 5 minutes before my trial, told me to take a plea deal and rode off into the sunset with my money. Didn’t wait for me to get out the court or give me any info before or after. 10/10 don’t give thousands of dollars to these idiots

Used this firm in 2018 and had Tommy Gordon and he was a big help! Then back in 2023 I needed more legal help and was placed with Russ Watson, explained to him what was going on and he assured me he could help me. The first week I heard back from him and after that nothing, I was in a very bad state emotionally (my daughters dad passed away and I was trying to have Russ help me understand estates) he stop answering my calls, I left many emails and voicemails. I had to call the office and complain many times and Everytime I called(which was about every two weeks) he was “out of the country” or had just come back. After 6 months of nothing no email no returned calls, no help I had asked Russ to return the rest of my retainer fee and I was no longer interested in Pursuing him as a lawyer. Instead of listening that I didn’t want anything else from him he had tried “working “ on my case and I had to call everyday for two weeks to ask them to stop and return the remaining funds. Thankfully he return my full fee which I wasn’t expecting.
