It's a long read, but that is because it takes a lot of words to describe excellence! I needed an attorney to represent me in a final action related to a divorce. Fortunately, I had a legal plan thru my employer and searched for attorneys in the plan. I reached out to two of the three listed and got thru immediately to one but had to leave a message for the second one. I don't expect to get the best attorneys thru a legal plan since they pay what I am certain are low rates to the attorneys/firms so the conversation with the first firm was about as expected and did not exude confidence but I figured they could get the job done. I received a call back from the second attorney and she was upbeat, gave me confidence that she was on the ball but more importantly, made me feel comfortable & confident that she would do her best to ensure I got the optimal result. That was Lindsay Ricketts of Gravis Law. The courts were/are backed up in Colorado and I am out of state, so I had to rely on Lindsay for everything. We developed a plan, she set the expectations and did not sugar coat the negatives. That is what I needed - absolute HONESTY! As the process proceeded we had to make adjustments to the original plan and Lindsay was VERY patient with my overthinking just about everything (I'm an engineer, it's what we do!) Lindsay was also accommodating of my persistent questions asking her to explain things to me so I would not feel lost in the legal aspects. As we approached the point where the details would get worked out between the parties, Lindsay went above and beyond and researched a tangential case where she was able to obtain the court records that gave us a significant advantage during the negotiations. We strategized with this newfound knowledge and then she presented a clear offer in advance of the negotiations & asked for a response in advance so we could gain more insight. That allowed us to come to the table at the formal meeting with a fair compromise offer that still took a couple hours of back & forth to finalize but we did just that. Then, the cherry on top was that despite the court backlogs, Lindsay was able to get the agreement signed by the Judge the NEXT DAY! I didn't have to wait for weeks hoping nothing would change. I am able to move forward with my life with no worries because Lindsay ensured this was a FINAL change, or in the parlance of my youth, "no backsies!!!" While no court activity could be called 'fun'. Lindsay kept me positive and even gave me a moment of pause when the opposing attorneys at one point withdrew because they had run afoul of her skills previously and knew she came loaded for bear and with a take no prisoners attitude! The attorney of record was a no-show and I could only imagine him cowering in his office just hoping this case would go away! My finding Lindsay Ricketts was, I'll admit, pure luck/chance. Your luck is that because of my experience and this review, you won't have to roll the dice when you select her to represent you. You will know you have the best working on your behalf to ensure you get the optimal outcome!
