Once again disappointed with this firm. I don't know how an attorney James Gannon can be so incompetent and still work there. He receives paperwork and sits on it, doesn't return calls. I finally get in touch with someone that appeals the case only to be denied a hearing from a judge because of some one supposedly didn't receive my denial letter and it was to late to appeal considering it was way past the 60 days I had. So I'd like to thank James Gannon , for prolonging my case ,not doing his job. I am a disabled veteran having a hard time where all these other people have no problem. I cant refer this office anymore because of 1 incompetent attorney
I would strongly caution anyone considering this office for an SSDI case. At the beginning, communication was friendly and reassuring. However, as my case progressed, I felt completely left in the dark. I was denied for the second time in January and was never contacted or informed by the office, I had to discover the denial on my own. After reviewing my file, I learned that Social Security never received all of my medical records, including office notes from my main treating physician, which is a critical component of a disability case. The denial letter again cited my age, yet key medical evidence was missing from my file. That lack of follow-through raises serious concerns about how my case was handled. From my experience, at no point did I feel truly guided or represented. Navigating an SSDI case is stressful enough, and I expected far more involvement and communication. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office.
You guys took on my case almost 3 years ago and have failed to communicate with me on any updates about my SSI. I’ve tried reaching out multiple times and leave voicemails and no one calls me back or answers the phone. I had an appeals decision back in December which I only found out about just recently because of logging into my social security account. I was supposed to receive a letter on that appeals decision months ago and have received nothing. The lack of communication is unprofessional and I need to know what’s going on with my case!
Greene & Greenberg was an excellent firm to work with. I had the pleasure to work with Derek. Derek was very supportive in a very stressful situation. He answered all my questions and explained things thoroughly in a manner I could understand. I would highly recommend Greene & Greenberg.
I had a terrible experience with Green & Greenberg. I suffer from a serious traumatic brain injury (TBI) and trusted this firm to properly handle my Social Security Disability case. They failed me twice. There was a serious lack of communication throughout my case. I was not kept informed about important developments and often felt completely in the dark about what was happening with my own claim. Attorney Joanne did a horrible job representing me at trial. I was contacted only the day before my hearing. There was no meaningful preparation, no proper review of my medical evidence with me, and no clear explanation of what to expect. Her opening and closing statements were very poor and showed a lack of effort and advocacy. Because of the lack of communication, preparation, and diligence, my disability claim was denied for my serious medical condition. This firm did not fight for me the way they should have. I would not recommend Green & Greenberg or Attorney Joanne to anyone seeking disability representation, especially someone with a traumatic brain injury who needs clear communication and strong legal advocacy.
Hi Lea,

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. I'm the attorney who represented you at the hearing. I was surprised to read your review, so I went back and took a look at my notes from your 2023 hearing. I always call clients 1-2 days before the hearing to prepare. I apologize if the prep so close to the hearing upset you — I do this so that everything we go over to prepare for the hearing is fresh in clients' minds.
During our hearing prep call, we spent over an hour on the phone. First, I explained step by step what happens during the hearing. Then, we went through hearing prep questions that mimic the questions you get asked on the hearing day. At that time, we reviewed your file and any notes I had, the medical sources we had in your file and any records that we may have been waiting on — which in your case, your file was complete going into the hearing.
I reviewed the hearing as well. I gave an opening statement which stated my legal argument in favor of disability and how that argument was supported. I also did a thorough cross examination of the vocational expert. I did not give a closing statement, as I did not want to repeat myself and anything that needed to come forward in your testimony was addressed through questions I asked.
Unfortunately, the judge that you had at the hearing has a low approval rating. For that reason alone, I wasn't surprised when it was unfavorable, and that is why we appealed. We brought your case as far as we could. While we can't win every case unfortunately, we did fight at the Appeals Council and in Federal District Court to try and get a remand. When you received the denial, I made sure to chat with you for about an hour once again and explain everything that happened and the legal argument that the judge used in denying your claim.
We contacted you both when the Appeals Council sent their denial and after the Federal District Court denial about reapplication. You declined after the AC denial. When your district court denial came in, I directed you to both our firm in RI and a firm in CA if you moved to start a new application. Our initial application team was unable to reach you via phone or mail response after sending paperwork over.
I understand how frustrating this process is and know that it is a lengthy amount of time for things to happen in these courts. However, as your attorney and advocate, I was well prepared for your case and did everything in my power to get a favorable decision. We can't promise to win every case, but the firm and myself have many positive reviews and continue to work towards getting our clients benefits.

Excellent
Green & Greenberg was referred to me by another law firm that I initially contacted. The process was extremely long, and stressful, but Green & Greenberg was on top of things at every step, providing all the documentation to SS. In the first two steps, I could count on Dereck, who always responded to my emails and/or voicemails. The lawyers I spoke with, namely James Ganon, Joanna Smykowski, and Michael Plowman, who represented me at the ALJ hearing, were extremely attentive, clarifying questions and faithfully providing information. Thank you very much for your support throughout the process." L. V.
