Griffin Elder law was just fantastic to work with. John was thorough in ensuring all mom's interests were considered and covered. After she passed he coached us on filing the paperwork with the county. We highly recommend them for reasonably priced and very thorough advice and estate documents.

My wife and I highly recommend the law firm of Griffin & Griffin for your Elder Law and Estate Planning needs. We were impressed with the entire experience we had with John Griffin. He was professional, and very knowledgeable about Elder Law and Estate Planning. John Griffin was very patient to clearly explain all our options. He prepared our Last Will and Testament, Advanced Directive for Health Care and Living Will, and a Durable Power of Attorney. John answered all our questions to guarantee that our estate planning documents would be designed to encompass our wishes and desires. Also, his entire staff were respectful, professional, helpful, and very personable. Because of attorney John Griffin and his firm, we have total peace of mind about our estate planning.

I was very disappointed in this law firm. Drove 45 minutes because they had helped me previously with a minor issue. They insisted on having our asset and personal information BEFORE they would meet with us. Tish was rude and insisted we have to fill out the asset and personal info or the attorney would not meet with us. No other attorney I have ever met with had made this request. That is why it is a consultation! To decide if we trusted them to take the next step or not. This made me not trust them. We also sat there 30 minutes past our appt time and no telling how long we would of waited so we left.

Response from owner

RESPONSE BY GRIFFIN & GRIFFIN: I am sorry we were not able to meet as scheduled. I am writing in the hopes that this response will help to inform future potential clients of our policies and practices. I appreciate your confidence in returning to our practice (as noted in your review) after your first positive experience and am sorry we were not able to assist you in the same way the second time. We are one of only a small number of Elder Law Firms that continue to offer a free consultation. At that free consultation, it is very helpful to have the relevant information we need about someone's estate during our meeting, so that we can help advise and plan according. Our questionnaire is never required, but is requested as a mutual courtesy, so that we may use the free consultation time wisely. It is generally ineffective to spend much of the first consultation fishing for information, and risk the potential for missing undisclosed pitfalls. The questionnaire is designed to allow us to advise you more completely and for us both to get the most out of our time together. I do not generally encounter an unwillingness to complete the questionnaire, but when a potential client doesn’t or won’t complete it, I always meet with them regardless of whether the questionnaire is complete. I am sorry if that was not effectively communicated to you by my staff.

Regarding the delay in our meeting time, I sincerely apologize for the delay. In elder law, you do not always know the condition or abilities of the clients you will meet in any given day. We are often dealing with individuals who are confronting the difficult issues of aging, illness and death. Some of our clients cannot speak or process as quickly as others. We strive to give our clients the time needed to feel heard and so we can act with confidence that our clients understand our planning suggestions to the best of their ability. This does result in delays and scheduling issues, and for that I apologize. When we informed you of the anticipated delay, we were under the impression that you were understanding of the difficulties we faced in the appointment immediately prior to yours and that you indicated you understood that I would be delayed. I apologize if we misunderstood your position. I want you to know that while my personal practice of spending as much time with a client as it takes to fully help and advise them may cause scheduling delays, I will work hard to provide you with the same time and dedication to ensure you are fully informed and advised as well.

Again, I appreciate your confidence in returning to us and I am sorry we were not able to meet your needs this second time.
