This was the first time I have ever had to hire an attorney. I found Matthew through a bar association referral (having no idea where to look otherwise). Turns out to be a good match. We did an initial consultation in late April. He was mindful of the facts of my case, able to recall them between many different calls over six months. I appreciate that Matthew was conservative with my finances. He billed appropriately, and advised on whether or not one decision or another that I was making would be a wise use of the retainer I paid. Essentially telling me "yes you *could* do that, but it won't get any results and you'll be wasting your money." Although the ultimate outcome of the situation was not exactly what I had hoped for, he was able to negotiate my contract and able to negotiate for severance pay.

The others I spoke with told me I didn't have a case and even though I understood that and still wanted to move forward they didn't want to help me. When I spoke with Matthew he listened to what I had to say and was willing to help me. He was very direct with me regarding my case which I appreciated. He quoted me a flat fee and was able to stick to the quoted cost. He represented me with my former employer and was able to negotiate a nice severance for me when others told me I had no chance. He was timely in his communication and always kept me informed. I'd highly recommend him.

Simply put: Matthew is incredible. He was tremendously helpful in negotiating my severance agreement with my previous employer, taking into account the rules and restrictions of my H-1B work visa (something not many employment lawyers are aware of) and making sure we were able to get the best possible terms in my case. He provided updates at every step of the process and made sure my value and specific situation was communicated to my employer in very simple, positive terms. I'm very happy with the results of the negotiated agreement and the extra severance I received was more than 2.5x his attorney fees—definitely recommend!
