I highly recommend Hankey, Marks, and Crider. After my TBI almost 3 years ago I was super concerned because I would not be able to work anymore and my disability claim was denied. Let me tell you they stay consistently committed and communicative throughout the process. Tyler, Gavin, and everyone else was so helpful.
Julianne is amazing. Really cares for her clients!

I went with Hankey based upon their past reputation and experience. But then, and oftentimes, success can make someone or a business can rest on their laurels and become complacent and unmotivated. The attorney that was provided for me, Dana Harmon, seemed that way. Actually, she was that way, what am I saying? So Ok, it would take her 2-5 days to return an email or phone call. When she did, she was short, deadpan (or jaded) sounding, and it seemed as though I was... interrupting her. I sometimes wonder if she was just waiting for the next Hankey Firm check to come in... any day now. That, for starters, pissed me off. Long story short, I had to aggressively pursue the case on my own... doing the footwork myself. On one of the several (but next to last) times I went to the SS office in downtown Indy, they asked me who in the world my attorney was. I said Hankey. They told me that they would work to get me some benefits ASAP, and I should of had them a considerable amount of time ago. They told me that I could receive Medicare in addition to Medicaid. Said that I could receive SSI and SSDI. As a result of that, my payments would be the higher of the two. And because of that, my back payments would go back to like July of 2022 instead of March of 2023. Dana told me the latter date. They, at the SS office, told me that Medicaid could pay my Medicare premium. Dana knew none of this... or so it seemed, anyway. But they were really troubled. They literally told me (the concerned two Individuals I was talking to) that they did not need for Hankey to call them thereafter. Said they would take over from that point. So then, when my attorney finally does call them, she is not allowed to talk to them because she had my mothers maiden last name wrong (the password). She had the middle one instead. I had the answer right, and so did the SS ofc. Go figure on that one. About a month or so later, I had a 28k. pmt. Hankey got 25% of that. I am still tempted to call them and see if maybe they will give me 75% of that 7k. back for the work that I did. OK, I would settle for 25%. I would give all of it to the wonderful Puerto Rican American man (Mr. Melendez) who really cared about my case, seeing the extensive injuries I had while sitting in my wheelchair. They could even send him a 25% check of the 7k. that they made from my case, since he and that office did their work for them. That would be a nice gesture. But, I would say that when anyone gets 7k. for at least filing paperwork, that is a nice racket. So I give one star for the filed paperwork, and then an additional star for simply being very clever at business. I never heard back from my attorney or Hankey in general right after I briefed her (via Gmail) about some of this of what I am sharing. And there is so much more I could bring to light about my experience with them. I could share via editing this review. But as for now I will leave it to this. Lastly, I never received any expression of gratitude for my client business... nothing. I think my attorney may have been embarrassed and swept it under the rug. Now I am lifting that rug back up. It happens sometimes. You, the prospective client, can decide on whether you want to potentially go through an experience like this, considering Hankey. I am actually very glad that they did not get what they thought was right because of their inadequacy of proper legal knowledge. If they were successful in getting a financial result benefiting me without the outside help (like the individuals at the SS office downtown), then I may have been happy at what what I got... not having ever known what I could have received. I wonder at some of their 5 star reviews that they like to praise. Their inadequacy led me to greater benefits that was helped by caring individuals at that SS office itself that stepped in and showed some passion. But really, and ultimately, I can only thank you know who, my Maker and my Lord, which it was by that hand that showed me the first and foremost regard.

My case worker, Gavin, called me back within a very timely manner concerning some questions I had about my pending SSD claim. During this conversation he took the time to answer any questions I had and explained all of the details very clearly concerning anything I wanted to know about the case. Just a wonderful job with everything.
Very friendly and knowledgeable. I had a overall positive experience and I would recommend this team to anyone looking for a solid disability lawyer

I was referred to this law firm by a neighbor. I would like to return the favor for someone else because they really helped me. I have severe ADHD and have a lot of trouble understanding and following through so I never thought for a minute I could ever file for disability because it would just be too hard. I called them and they made sure I had everything I needed and even would remind me of things coming up because they knew that I was struggling with all of that. They made the impossible doable, which was to get me back on my feet. You don’t even pay them unless/until they have to step in and fight for you. Everyone I have talked to at this law firm is very kind. If you just have ss disability questions, I encourage you to call. They treat you with respect. They have given me hope when I had given up and I thank them so much for everything!!
I would recommend Hankey Marks & Crider for anyone going through a disability appeal. The process was seemed intimidating, but the firm really tackled the hardships for me. The firm communicated well with me and answered my questions. Although I was very nervous for the outcome, I’m happy to say that I’m so grateful I chose Hankey Marks & Crider.
I contacted Hankey Mark's and Crider in July of 2025 they took care of all of the paperwork and process of social security procedures i was amazed that I was approved for disability on the first assessment thank you
Lynn took care of my disability case with expertise. Was very conveniently available when I had questions. and she got the job done. Thank you so much Lynn for all your help and courtesy. God bless you
I can’t recommend Hankey Mark & Crider enough. From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and truly cared about my case. The disability process can be overwhelming, but they explained everything clearly, kept me informed, and handled all the hard parts for me. Thanks to their dedication and expertise, I was approved for disability, and I’m incredibly grateful. They treated me with respect, answered all my questions, and made me feel supported the entire time. If you’re looking for a law firm that actually fights for you, this is the one.
I contacted the firm to handle my SSA determination. They took care of everything for me! They answered all my questions completely and promptly. Lynne kept me informed on the progress of my case which I really appreciated. They even assisted me contacting Medicare once I was approved . You guys are great! Thanks so very much!
Working with Hankey Marks & Crider was invaluable. Every person I communicated balanced compassion, honesty, and professionalism to help me get through the process of applying for disability. From setting up my initial interview and gathering my medical records, I'm so thankful I worked with them, as doing it on my own became even more daunting given my declining health. From July 2025 to Jan 2026, they demystified and assisted the disability application process, and thankfully I was approved. I highly recommend them if you need any help with SSI/SSDI.
I was very pleased, the entire process went smoothly, communication was easy, stress free, approved the first time through, I couldn't be more pleased. Five stars !!
