Charles did a remarkable job with getting us through our case meeting. Everything he needed was explained in a way that was easily understood. Hausen Law, as a whole, is very professional they understand everyone's situation and work with their clients to find a path that is best for everyone. I highly recommend this firm!

Always feels like a scam when they have an arrogant little salesperson trying to sell you a “program” you say your cost is too high and he replies- you get what you pay for. Yes, I want to file bankruptcy. I don’t need a sales pitch and you don’t need a program. All bankruptcies are the same end result. You file. You be responsible and learn from your mistakes and rebuild your own credit again. I don’t need a “program” to tell me how to do that. So be warned this place feels more like a sales pitch rather than people wanting to help you.

Response from owner

Hi Michael. Sorry to hear that you feel this way, but I want to assure you that we are a legitimate law firm. Rather than a sales pitch, we follow a structured system designed to assist all of our clients effectively.
Our goal is to help you navigate your situation and ensure your bankruptcy is filed without any issues. We have a program for after your bankruptcy is filed and discharged to improve your credit score.

We have a dedicated team available to support you whenever you reach out with questions or concerns.
Thank you.
This is a very unprofessional law firm. The communication is terrible! After putting a deposit down, I never received any information and could not open the “welcome letter” that was supposed to contain all the information. I called the practice every day, for a solid week, asking for a call back and or email. Each time I called, I spoke to a different person. I felt like I had been scammed. I finally said that I just wanted my deposit back. They refused to refund my deposit. The attorney I finally talked to was very defensive and unprofessional! He did not address the issue of never having my questions answered or no return calls. This law firm apparently needed my deposit more than I did! Please do your research, and find an attorney that actually is there to work for you, communicate, and knows how to talk in a professional manner to clients. Very disappointing experience.

Response from owner

Hi Keri,

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet the communication standards we set for our firm.

We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the onboarding process. Following an internal review of our records, we confirmed that during your onboarding call, the attorney provided specific information regarding the bankruptcy process, outlined required documentation, and addressed clarifying questions to better understand your case.

Our records also indicate that our team made several attempts to reach you via telephone to follow up on your matter. We regret that we were unable to connect and that technical issues with the welcome letter caused further frustration. We sincerely apologize for this.

Regarding your deposit, we strive for transparency in our fee agreements and the work initiated upon engagement. Because professional legal advice was provided during your consultation—a recording of which was shared with you—the initial retainer was applied to those services.

Our goal is to provide clear guidance and communication for every client. While we were unable to resolve this matter to your satisfaction, we appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve our client experience. Thank you and we wish you the best. If you need me to call you I will be happy to do so.

Please be weary of reviews, the main attorney asked me to change my review after my case was finish. Also to the response the attorney said about me making payments. I finished paying my fees September 2025. The case was supposed to be finished November 2025, they didn't pay the bankruptcy court till December 30th, 2025. PLEASE look up your case on PACER if you feel like you are being gaslighted by them. That is how I found out what they paid the courts. Also PLEASE keep all emails and text from them or voicemails so you have proof of everything on your part. UPDATE: After writing this review the offive finally got ahold with me after me trying forever. My case is now done. They waited to send my paperwork till the bankruptcy court said it was not filled. They also didn't finish paying the court till the court said they would dismiss my case. Please if you have them an an attorney look up your court case on PACER. That is the federal courts website to look up cases. The main attorney also asked me to change my review since everything is done. I told him no, it does not change the fact that my case was supposed to be done November 21st, 2025. Because they did not send everything over my case was not finish till January 7 or 8th, 2026. That is a month and a half later than supposed to. Also only because the court sent notices they did not submit information. I will not recommend this office to anyone, the month of December 2025 was stressful from not hearing from then and getting no proper response. And me thinking my case was being dismissed from the notice I got in the mail from the bankruptcy court. I would give 0 stars if I could. Im going to have to get a malpractice attorney because how this office. They did not submit the paperwork properly, then I question them about it and get the response oh it's submitted and done. Then I get another message saying I still owe money when I don't. I have proof, I keep my emails. I've called over 4 times and no one will ever call me back. I was told via text message if I don't pay that they will dismiss my case. Nothing about what I'm receiving back via email or text makes sense. I just wanted my bankruptcy done and over with.

Response from owner

There was no malpractice committed. You filed your case with filing fees in installments and we paid your filing fee late. Your filing fee has been paid and I apologized to you. As the lead attorney, I rely on my staff to assist me as I cannot attend to every matter personally. Please be assured that no one is gaslighting you. This is not what we do at this law firm. A former employee made an error when she sent the text regarding your payment without properly reviewing your information first. She is no longer with the firm. Anyone can go on Pacer and see their case. It's public record.

Regarding your online review, you are welcome to keep it posted. For the record, our logs show you called on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 10:27 AM, and again on January 5, 2026. I returned your call on January 5th. Once again I apologize for the delay on our end regarding the filing fee.

Congratulations you received your discharge order on 1/7/2025. We wish you the best. Thank you.

I would give no stars if I could. I’m very disappointed. First time ever filing bankruptcy and I feel like I was scammed. I made a down payment, spoke to a supposed lawyer. Nothing happened after that for several weeks. They told me stop payment on bills and tell them I filed bankruptcy, they all asked for a case number which I was never provided. Someone at the office told me give them the creditors number and they would call and get it handled, never did. The creditor ended up sending us a huge late bill because I trusted this firm. I’m reporting them to the BBB.. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS FIRM FOR YOUR BANKRUPTCY. They are terrible. And I know they will reply to this as if they care or solved the problem but I’ll tell you right now they did not since I won’t be able to reply to their fake comment under this. They also told me my $100 that I put down was refundable but when I asked for it back they told me I can’t have it back because it paid for my consult with the lawyer. RUN…

Response from owner

Ms. Woods, I have investigated and here’s what happened. In reviewing your file, I want to specifically address your concerns regarding communication. You are correct that there were two instances where instructions you provided over the phone were not properly relayed to your attorney by our intake staff. We pride ourselves on clear communication, and in these moments, we fell short of our own standards. I sincerely apologize for the frustration and confusion this caused you. For this I am truly sorry. Please take note that this is no fake comment but true and accurate information that was provided to you. We are sorry to hear that there seems to be a misunderstanding regarding the services provided and the current status of your case on your end.

To clarify the timeline, you completed your free 30-minute consultation on Nov 18th, and approximately one month ago, then you had a 26-minute Onboarding session with my associate, Charles Fonda on Nov 25th.

We can confirm the following regarding your case status and our instructions:

Stopping Payments: Clients are instructed to stop paying their debts once they engage us, as the intent is to file for bankruptcy.
Filing Status: We have not informed you that your bankruptcy case has been filed. Nowhere in the conversation was this mentioned, Any debts you have received, including the late bill you mentioned, will be discharged once the bankruptcy is filed.
Creditor Communication: You were advised to notify your creditors that you had retained our firm. However, as the full retainer has not been paid, a case number cannot be issued, and the bankruptcy has not been filed.

Please note that Mr. Fonda’s time for the 26-minute Onboarding session is billable, just as a doctor’s diagnostic time is. The Onboarding was an agreement you entered into knowing that you would be speaking with an attorney.

We believe that all information provided was accurate and clearly communicated by attorney Charles Fonda. We are unsure why you are seeking to cancel the bankruptcy and leave a negative review simply because you are unable to receive a refund for the attorney time that was provided. Had you not wished to proceed, you should have indicated that before engaging in the Onboarding session then you would have received your $100 back. We will NEVER tell any client to let their creditors know that they filed if they NEVER filed. This is inaccurate information. The phone agent informed you about your creditors and mentioned what to do when they called you. When the BBB contacts us we will provide all of the evidence. We are not scam a artist. We are a legit law firm. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office. Thank you.
